On the A22, it's definitely got road presence, sounded good too but it's seriously....

I have to say I was a bit bowled over when I first saw one in the flesh.

Sat in one at goodwood. Got to say the interior is really cheap. Very disappointing as I had high hopes.

Blessed with the competence to be a slave to the incapable.

Currently without a Lotus, Evora 400 Hethel Edition in Racing Green with Red leather and 2010 Evora N/A in Laser Blue and 1983 Lotus Excel LC Narrow body in Ice Blue all sadly gone.

I saw one at Stanford Hall...... Looked bloomin' good fun to me!  :smoke:  I just wish the Fiat group would produce a cheap old-skool sportscar again. £45k is hardly everyman. I'm biased with my X1/9 but they missed a trick not replacing that or the Barchetta just as cars like the MX5 etc. were taking off...

  • 2 weeks later...

Still haven't seen one in the flesh, but one of my mates thinks I'm mad ordering a V6 Exige, he is convinced that I should have gone with the 4C, just not feeling it myself though.

Mate of mine has got the Launch edition and took it to Le Mans Classic.  It ended up at the dealer when the dash lit up like a christmas tree, but only a faulty temp sensor.   sounds nice, and goes like stink, but you can see where they got the idea from.

Or even making the Barchetta RHD! Bonkers.

Split loyalties for me as an Alfa/Lotus owner.

I love the 4C, I am sure it wouldn't drive as nice as the Elise/Exige but I think it looks wonderful.

Ditto, only seen one at a show, seeing it parked next to an Esprit above it looks more like an Evora

In the garage no-one can hear you scream

There is no doubting that it is a beautiful car, I just can't get used to those front lights though, the early show cars looked so much better with the covers on in my opinion.

Have to say that you can't beat that Alfa blood red colour.

Just taken another look

Sorry guys but I think I may well choose a 4C over the Exige. I'm not likely to use such a valuable car as a track toy, so on the limit driving dynamics would likely not be a big factor.

The problem is that as lovely as the V6 Exige is, which it is, Trevor's looked lovely in burnt orange, it's just not different enough from every other model they've built on that chassis since the S2 introduction.

The 4C is just lovely, especially in the deep metallic red like Paul said, and I'd happily park it in my living room between the sofa and the cinema screen....

That would make sense, if not I'm sure some aftermarket company will be offering a kit shortly for the light covers.

Absolutely.  There is room in my lounge next to the TV for one.

This is from the FOS last year, but I actually got to sit in one at this years.  Loved it!

I'd still love a Barchetta as a toy Mark - even in LHD - ridiculously cheap these days........

Back on track and despite the age gap I doubt the 4C can match an Exige on the road. As per other comments though Alfa have obviously gone over an Exige with a tooth-comb. My brother-in-law has a top job at Aston Martin and I could not believe how long ago he told me they had a 4C in at Gaydon for inspection. There must be a mutual manufacturer agreement to lend each other their latest Hardware way before Journo's let alone customers get their hands on any vehicle........
