I'm in process of fitting Nitron shocks to an '85 Esprit.  The Nitron kit did not include rubber pillow bushes to fit to the piston rod on either side of the perch-- just a pair of washers.  Should I make a fixed metal-on-metal clamping mount at the perch, or add the Lotus rubber pillow bushes used on the OEM shocks?  Nitron has not replied to my query on this point.
