Can a 03 reg Elise 111s ECU fault codes be read by OBDII scanner?

 

Any suggestions on a good scanner that is proven to work on an Elise S2 111s

The OBD plug should give you a clue as to what you need. I'm sure they changed between OBD I and OBD II.

I think it was 2001 when obd2 became standard, though that only covers the basics and most manufacturers have additional proprietary diagnostics.
