Just to add to any confusion looking at meeting at the Steadding at Hillend at 0815 leaving at 0830 for blast down by the back roads to Duns then Kelso.

To avoid confusing Andrew any more, we'll catch the convoy as it passes the largest layby on the left at the top of Soutra on the A68, (that's the one after the wind farm and just as the road starts to go downhill at the right hand bend).

 

We'll aim to be there for 08.45 and will keep our eyes peeled since nobody can ever be sure what direction Andrew will approach from.

No confusion here, we will leave Hermiston Gait @ 8:45am sharp and will be passing the said layby at around 9:15am.

Update from David Darling:

 

The Queens Hotel will open at 10:00am for coffee and food for us instead of the usual 11:00am

 

"We have been given verbal permission to park in the town square outside the town hall. The Square is surrounded by planters but has an access point opposite the Bank of Scotland. We will be in the town and keep an eye out for your arrival to direct you. We might not be able to get all in the square but certainly at least 10-12 of you."

Hi Brian, sorry but Wendy and I have to call off from tomorrow's meet. I am still waiting on parts for Wendy's car and I have a grumbling rear wheel bearing, she would be ok for short local runs but would not like to chance going so far South with her.

Great meet thanks to Humes for opening just for us and my new (Lotus) suit. Good blast back roads used sun splitting the heavens all day.

Had a great blast home from this, back roads over to Lauder than criss cross back to the A7 on the back roads from Lauder to Stowe. Took me a while to get home but I always thought Lotus made cars to encourage us to go the most indirect route, and interesting route possible!
