The ceramic coating only last about 18 months and this depends on how much weathering it’s exposed plus washing agents etc ? 
I guess every year if you reapplied the coating it keep the UV effects at bay ? 
it’s something even my dim witted self could do as I don’t want to let it get to the stage it was before

On both my Evoras I used PPF on the headlights and as such I never had an issue with peeling. My current 5 year old 410 Sport has no sign at all of lacquer peel/delamination.

Why use a ceramic coat every year, and the ceramic coat will do nothing to protect the plastic lens from stones, unlike PPF. In this instance, I really do think there is only one sensible product to use.

Polished, all good. Then ppf and this

 

 

followed the instructions for a wet fit, allowing the ppf to slide in to position. Squeegeed out etc and then dried out. Despite the instructions saying that any small air bubbles will dry out, they (not) clearly  didn't. So removed and replaced. I'll remove the film and re polish and clearcoat as a spare/sale.

Removal. First whoever said you can get access through the porthole was either talking out of their fundament or has a sonic screwdriver or a transporter to beam them out.

Remove wheel, remove bottom wheel arch 'cover, pull back top wheel arch cover ( after removing fixings).

 

Look for the 3 allen screws that hold the hl in place

 

 

That furthest one will need a small thin child, or a mini socket wrench and allen socket. Even then it's a bugger. It doesn't need to be removed as it fits into an open sided hole. With the closest two removed and this one loosened you can slide the hl back towards you.

You will need to remove the hl wiring plug, and the hl wash connection . This last has a white locking yoke that needs to be pulled from the closed, flat side. 

Remove the headlight through the wheel arch.

 

Refit is the reverse. You will need to fit two washers on the furthest screw and hold them apart to allow that far bracket to slide in between them. IMPOSSIBLE!. I found a split pin that I could slide over the screw to replace the top washer. This will then hold in place on the screw while tightening it up. So the screw from the bottom face up will have, washer, bracket, slit pin (below), HL mount.

Be careful and don't do this.

Caught the corner of my newly finished hl putting it back in. 

oops forgot to add, I removed the bracket completely for better access.(two hex bolts, don't drop the nuts at the back)

Great work, the front Allen screw washers are always a pain.  I used double sided tape to stick them in place.  You can also reach the front screws by removing the under panel.

OK, mine have suffered a bit of accident damage which has cracked the protective coating and allowed the rust to progress quicker but even so, they still wouldn't have been a particularly pretty sight before much longer,  .

I'm going to ask the bodyshop to order up the newer alloy ones when it eventually goes in for the bumper replacement. As it's an aftermarket (WinAce) bumper, it doesn't matter about the ducting mountings being different as they're not going to be used anyway, and the new-style alloy brackets are considerably cheaper than the old steel S1 versions (which are showing as 'No Longer Available' in any case) so it's an easily justifiable 'upgrade'. Bizarrely, I see that for the same price you can also order the newer brackets in mild steel, but why would you?

Pretty poor material choice all around this area, sponge pipe spacers and mild steel. 😐

Conveniently, otherwise I'd have to be following your example, as a result of the impact the driver's side headlight got pushed down under the lip of the clam which has damaged the PPF on it so  that's a headlight refurb on the insurance coming up, and of course the passenger's side one will need doing as well so that they match,  .
