I got a guy to do My headlights and he turned them from mOT advisory to not being mentioned on next MOT Cost me about £100 and he spent 6-7 hours I guess he wet sanded and used a final polish ?

Only saw one posting on this topic about a few years ago What is consensus on adding a small degree of spaces 5mm front 15 mm rears A work colleague who is a track instructor as a side business, loves the Evora but suggested for looks but a handling improvement could be had by adding the above spacer ? Also not mega bucks in cost to do.

I been with Hastings now in the 2nd yr I did a comparison and got a much cheaper par for par quote asked Hastings for cancellation they offered to match and even better it so I did and took on another year.

The trim parts on left and right sides need to be ordered as my lotus guys told me they crack and break nearly every time and they were £40 a piece. The insurance cover this anyway. I had similar reaction from windscreen guys about prospect of doing a lotus, they never seen or done an Evora never mind a lotus. To be fair they were more than willing to meet me at lotus garage, took away the pressure if they got it wrong etc?

Had my windscreen on my 2010 NA replaced last Friday , met up with national windscreen guy at my lotus garage , the lotus guys did some work on body and clam then windscreen guy did his bits lotus finished up and hey presto after 10 weeks waiting it was done. Paid my £135 Excess I guess overall Cost to insurance co is in region of £1900-2100?

Thanks Bibs I get told conflicting info ? The glass chipped on 18 Dec and I was told after Xmas break order was placed just into new year and then 9th Jan. Hopefully it will arrive next week and I can get the windscreen and central guys can do the work to install the glass.

HWPO20250121022758 This order number I was given by central. They told me lotus parts said the windscreen in stock and is waiting as they need to find a way to get it delivered ? It’s been on order and waiting since 9 Jan

Didn’t get a call back from central with number I will try again on Wednesday

I don’t know order number but I can ask tomorrow. Not sure if central have ordered for national windscreen ?

I have been waiting for my new windscreen since beginning of Jan 2025, the order was placed in Dec 24 and approved by insurance to be delivered to central lotus cars notts. The order was supposed to arrive by 17 Jan then again 31 Jan then again by 7 Feb but still no show. Apparently the glass needs to go by a specialist couriers ? I have chased central lotus every week they said they been chasing but now got into a dead zone ?

Just check your local lotus garage their prices ? I think the lower prices still in force but I was concerned about ordering from EU and the import duties and time ? I am no driving God and my deciding factors were linked to levels of corrosion and I personally think the lotus ones are going to last a little better than the non oem versions ?

My Dutch rear set of discs and pads were replaced last summer as they had corroded after about 4.5 years. I had my replaced by lotus supplied ones and to be honest paid about the same as Dutch versions. I think they look a little better and seem a better quality ?

Stick to a trusted brand some come with 2 yr warranty I swapped to pioneer even though previous owner had upgraded to clarion when car was ordered.

If you still have a car audio company close to where you I recommend going down and looking at various models from pioneer Sony etc with regards to sub and amp they are very compact units which fits or innlotus case doesn’t fit well into its housing space behind the drivers side. You can get the unit to fit but need to add some better enclosure into the space to prevent on going wear and damage as it can bounce around through time. my son had attempted a replacement about 3 years ago but said to make sure it would last need to make a custom enclosure but fell ill and only just recovered his health a year ago and now he moved to his house so I will have to wait.

Tip my hat to yourself having the skill and confidence to undertake this job. I was always considering that my battery was a little suspect which may had contributed to starter failure ? I might be completely wrong but since I had a new battery I have not had any starting issues, no management lights and after recent cold snap I didn’t drive for 10 days it started first time !
