Slow progress two steps forward one step back.

Needed to swap the dash out which is actually quite an involved job. Ended up having to take everything out to sort the cut wiring and to replace the fm / gps aerials as well as run new wiring for the speakers / crossovers and tidy up the mess that lotus / idiot at scrappy did of the wiring..

Finally got it all back together to find that the interior light fuse c12 was blowing.. Was a mare to trace, everything taken off again to find it was a melted wire leading to the roof dome light which was a pain to get to.. 

Finally today I have the dash back in and the head unit all wired up with new wiring for the reversing cam, wiring to the amp / sub / front speakers sorted.. just need to put most of the lower trims back in place, sort out the subwoofer enclosure wiring, wiring for the heated seats and I might finally get to put the rear clam back on...

ahaha getting there.. the poor audi towcar needed some work.. ie wheel bearing, brake hoses, suspension arms yadda yadda.. good news is that the 2bular was fitted tonight and sounds great.. need to finish the heated seat wiring and then all thats left is the clam.. hoping to have a day to work on it this weekend

exhaust on, clam shimmed up and fitted.. lots more annoying jobs to come..

Looking good Mark.

they look like the same exhaust tips fitted to my 2bular on my N/A. .You might want to offer up the splitter because I had to drill out the rivets and chop 2 inches off the exhaust trims. Easier done now than later if they are the same.

How did you get on with the exhaust Mark, I'm led to believe that the design may have been tweaked since mine.

I don't know how flush the exhaust sits yet as wont be able to pick up the diffuser panel / parking sensor plastic trim until sunday.. however progress has been made.. getting the boot to line up and open/close was a bitch starting from zero reference I have no idea how they do it in the factory!!

 

also just to add I found the brake lights only worked when the sidelights were on... might explain why it was rear ended?? ;-)

The TC light seemed to come on when the brakes were pressed too which a quick forum search revealed the brake light switch was the culprit.. No idea why it would mean the brakes only worked when the lights were on though? Either way a quick trip to eurocarparts for £16, fitted a new brake light switch and et voila working brake lights

Mark,  What can i say,  bigger balls than me for shelling out the money on a crash damaged motor, but so pleased for you it payed off. 

Very quick turn around, One of the best colour combos on the Evora imo,   Only thing left to do now is  enjoy the fruits of your labour  !

Hi Mark,

Noticed an Alpine TUE-DAB1U unit in your pics. If you manage to get decent reception with it I'd be grateful to know which aerial setup you used. My windscreen aerial is not good.

Well I haven't driven it yet, but picked up 50 odd stations when I drove it outside.. I'm not expecting much but if I can pick up planet rock occasionally i'll be happy..
