Full allocation of Cup 380 cars now sold...that didn't take too long!

Any idea if the cars will be numbered X/60? Likewise any idea of LHD/RHD split?

@stephenwhyte Well, you've got to be patient, the first 2 will be here in July, than 2 in August, and the last 2 in September...... White, Black, Blue, Grey, etc..... the 4,5,6 can still be spec fully, I hesitate for a color for mine.... but apparently according the Mr Gibbons at Hethel, 50 % were sold in the metallic blue of the show car.... the balance split between the other available colors.... there might be a few special ones.... I don't know, maybe I'll get one in Military Grey or Sky Blue, or Solid Red..... but the one I really want is the 3-11...still expecting it to be homologated in Switzerland.... we have great hopes.. my dealer got the only 2 ones in Switzerland... I'm still waiting before ordering the Cup or taking the 3-11....

@Swiss360Cup thanks! - but this include the cars at the Dealers, I believe? (I do not think that the cars at the Dealers in europe are commisioned by Lotus) In Germany there are quite a few sitting at the Dealers, even in Special Color schemes.

@Snoopy1969 140 is the total production, they've stopped at this level due to cost increases after the drop in the £ exchange rate. It will take them til winter time to complete the 140 orders of which a significant number are dealers orders. It will take probably well into 2018 to sell to final customers. One of the issues is also the homologation of the car. It was not a worldwide homologation so each country has to do it which increases time and cost to bring it on the roads. It's the case in Switzerland with homologation still pending. In Germany with your TUV system it's easier but still an individual homologation for each car. I believe it is so ...

@usurp that would be nice to know but I don't....

I have a 2016 Exige and my car serial number is 359, does that mean when my car was produced there were 358 exiges produced before me? And if yes do all the exiges count towards that number, like the cup models, the 350 and 380 after that etc? Cuz if yes then I'd guess there are less than 500 V6 exiges around the world.

A progressive and amenable low-rev response opens up into muscly mid ranges then a proper wild charge towards the 7000rpm red-line.??

"We didn't have time," Lotus CEO Jean-Marc Gales laughs, "to come up with a USA price list. They were all gone before we could settle on a price. But this showed us how much interest there was, so we are already working on a successor for our American customers."

Making another 80 will annoy anyone suckered in by the limited production ruse but it's a sign that demand really is strong. I have to admit to being sceptical about them all being sold out. Looks like the Cup message is finally starting to get through. The well heeled need something to drive on track while their limited production Porsche appreciates in the garage I guess!

Yes same old from ph, it's nice to read positive stuff but I think they should have challenged JMG on some things like the price rises, new lower downforce 250 and too loud for track exhausts. I doubt many journos even know about this stuff though these days.

Whilst the core of the article has been addressed above, I can't help but pick up on this comment..

'The depths of this car are immense'.

This is essentially a 2012 v6s, correct? Were the depths of this car always immense and no one realised it in 2012 or have the bits of plastic and carbon which are now strapped to it taken the very shallow depths of the pre strapped on car to a new level?

Completely unconvinced by this 'review'.

The article says 'another 80' as you can see. Could be sloppy journalism in that it's now 80 in total, could be another 80, who knows? Have a go at Richard Aucock the guy that wrote it!
