For any of those not in the know, we've bumped into some of the Lotus Elan Central boys several times now. Some gave towards Bigsi's car and all of them have congratulated us on our suprise. They are the Elan equivalent of us and a great bunch of guys. (Many of you will remember SYv who also posts on here and his buzz bomb Stripey who attended Stoneleigh and Bristol with us as well).

Come on Howard, get your Gerry Anderson right, the Angels were Captain Scarlet, the music on the vid is UFO, you remember Gabrielle Drake in a purple wig and silver cat suit, and gullwing cars based on Ford Zephers.

Does anyone know the fate of the Elise driver who crashed and his car?

Driver was fine, it was his female passenger who was airlifted. Alan Morgan said it was only done as a precaution as she was having neck and back pains, but didn't think it was serious.

Here is some video I shot last weekend at Castle Combe. Sorry it's so short but I was having such a great time hooning roiund the track and chatting to people I forgot to video loads, of stuff.

Good God Howard you have got a good memory, you are thinking of Ayshea Brough she was a SHADO operative in the series and wore a large A around her neck, and your right she did present a pop programme called Lift Off with Ayesha

Hi,Ed Straker's copper coloured car was one of the cars which inspired me to buy my S1.I hate to say it but UFO is still one of my favourate 1970's seriese.Did you know that in HMV you can buy the complete 10 disc set,which I have and still watch.Ahhhh Gabrielle Drake,those legs that silver skirt.

On the subject of the cars, yes DLT did buy one of them, and was involved in a company which actually tried to build and sell them under the name Quest. The cars were not actually built for UFO but constructed for a Gerry Anderson film call Doppleganger or Journey to the far side of the sun as it was called in the states. I think one of the cars is owned by Peter Nelson of the cars of the stars museum in Keswick.

It's strange how things come full circle, one of the things which keeps my Esprit on the road is that I restore and sell old Corgi & Dinky toys and specialise in Film & TV cars, one of the most popular items I sell is the Dinky Ed Straker car. I think we must all be men of a certain age.
