Remarkable how little (apparent) damage there is rear of the firewall.  Looks very survivable for the occupants, but what a heartbreaking mess.

German press wrote that the passengers "only" were injured lightly / middle - all the best to them

Both shocking to look at but impressive at the same time, I wonder what they hit and what speed, I hope Lotus take an interest like Volvo do post an accident involving their cars.

Oof, that's painful to look at.

 

I can see why the accident happened though - they're missing a front wheel!
