  1. They're bonkers fun aren't they?! Must admit I wasn't initially 100% convinced when my wife decided on a Cooper S a couple of years ago. One drive (and a play with a Focus ST) later and I was a complete convert
  2. Here we go again. Anyone else been out on the pop tonight?
  3. I suspect that once Mr K is feeling a little less tired i.e. the hangover's gone, the world might seem a slightly better place Failing that he could always consider starting a Norfolk based Esprit timeshare with a 'best mate'. Just one precautionary measure though matey - be sure to keep the thieving b*st*rd's hands well away from the lovely Mrs K...
  4. As Dave says, they seem a good bunch of people. Have quite a few Esprit owners within their membership too. Chatted to one or two of them at Helmingham Hall a couple of years ago. Will try and dig out some of the pics I took during the next few days. Meantime, I'll add myself to the list. Owen Andy C James
  5. I'll have a pint of whatever Cameron's been drinking please...
  6. A very warm welcome back to Blighty, Dave
  7. Sunday opening hours: 12:00 - 14:00 & then 17:00 - 19:30.
  8. There are two fish & chip shops in Aldeburgh High Street. Both under same ownership and equally good. But in terms of access (and pub next door) the better known and more popular Aldeburgh Fish & Chip shop has a slight edge. But not sure if they're open all afternoon on Sundays. Will ring tomorrow and report back.
  9. A five hour pub session has provided a fair amount of Dutch courage so... after all the "we'll support LEF" rhetoric I personally find it a little disappointing that despite all the work Dave has put in sourcing suppliers/costs we've yet to see anyone pledging financial support. So I'll get the ball rolling - I'm in for
  10. Lotus recommendations - clicky Having designed, developed & tested the V8 it's reasonable to assume that their knowledge is without parallel.
  11. Or just go directly to the main forum page at - http://www.lotusespritforum.com/forums/index.php?act=idx Then add it to your bookmark/favorites list

  13. Well, something in the Staropamen > Fianco Greco > Sauvignon Blanc > Primitivo > La Beryl > Armagnac > Calvados > Primitivo > Sloe gin combination certainly left me feeling a little 'tired' yesterday morning. Can't help thinking it was more likely to have been something I'd eaten though...
  14. Hey guys, that's truly superb news! Many congratulations to you both Rog & Sam
  15. A140 > Diss B1077 > until just after crossing A1120 Left onto B1079 > Left onto B1078 > Wickham Market > Tunstall Left onto B1069 > Snape Right onto A1094 > Aldeburgh
  16. Ah, the drunken ramblings thread returns. Seems an opportune time for me to add to it I've just returned from a rather liquid night out with a handful of people I regard as being some of my truest friends. Have to say I'm now feeling a tad 'tired & emotional'! Friends - now there's an interesting concept. As some of you already know, a couple of months ago ago my so-called best friend chose to 'steal' my beloved wife of 20 + years. Maybe I'm just terribly old fashioned but to my mind friends' partners are strictly off limits anyway; but to do it to a best mate is just beyond contempt... But on a brighter note I've been completely overwhelmed by the concern and support I've received from those who've proved themselves to be real friends, both locally and here on LEF. Guys, you know who you are - a sincere and heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you. But in particular my thanks to Andy B, Tony K, Simon F, Andy C, Chris C, Martyn V, Mark B & Barrie C for your continued and unstinting support B) Right, on that note I'm off to find some more wine... or maybe I'll start on the sloe gin
  17. I'm gonna do my best to be there chaps but I've got something of a diary clash that weekend as I'm meant to be in Surrey on the Saturday morning for a Forester rolling road shootout, then a sprint back to Manningtree for the opening of our annual beer festival in the afternoon/evening and then, in theory at least, onto Tobi's BBQ. Forget Southwold for fish and chips. It'll almost certainly be absolutely mobbed by TV/media second home 'luvvies' and parking will be next to impossible. Aldeburgh is a far better option IMO. Rather less busy, fewer luvvies, easier parking, and infinitely superior fish & chips.
  18. But isn't Wreningham just down the road from Hethel, and so ideally situated? Very handy for the Bird in Hand pub too
  19. If it is the rad that's at fault it's a real pain to access. Ideally, get the car on a lift or the front over a pit. You'll then need to swivel the oil coolers out of the way (easier said than done) to get at the rad itself.
  20. Many Esprit owners on here will only entrust their steeds to Gerald Turner of GST Performance in Newmarket, some driving very considerable distances to do so. The reasons - he knows the Esprit backwards & inside out, is a real enthusiast who loves our cars as much as we do, always goes above and beyond, provides regular progress updates, answers/returns phone calls, and is one of the nicest, most genuine and honest people you'll ever likely to meet. Oh, and whilst he doesn't broadcast the fact, he much prefers working on Esprits, Elans, Elites etc
