  1. Edward's just said precisely what I was typing
  2. It is Baz... you and Emma would love it! We paid a fleeting visit whilst holidaying in the Beacons a couple of weeks ago. Now added to our ever expanding list of long weekend venues.

    Wine Club?

Was a member of Laithwaites for three or four years. Received some really nice wines but also some fairly average stuff too. Eventually concluded I preferred doing my own thing via Majestic, a couple of local importers, the odd supermarket special offer, not too mention an occasional cross channel raid. As far as other wine clubs are concerned I've heard some extremely favourable reports on Averys and The Wine Society.
  4. Definitely up for this one boss
  5. There's a big thread on this over in the East Anglian section of P'heads. I'd be up for it but am at a mate's wedding so can't make I'm afraid.
  6. What ya typing Kimbers? Something to do with a nice red S4
  7. Hope to see you on Tuesday then. Is your car still in Gerald's hospital or has it now been discharged?
  8. Rather thought you'd say that. Hurry up and get that poor old snail fixed!
  9. You thinking of joining us Brendan? Would be good to see an Elan there too Dave
  10. The idea of a bit of a hoon with you guys appeals so the timeshare Esprit will be heading to The Fox RV point. Do we have an RV time yet?
  11. I'd tentatively planned to come along for the whole weekend but a mate of mine has now decided to get married on the Sunday, and Penny's just told me that "we've" accepted an invite to a surprise birthday party on Saturday evening Plan B is that I'll be there during the day on Saturday. If you need any additional help setting up I can be there by 08:00 - 08:30. J
  12. Concur with Andy's suggestion re asking for help. Classic tactic that invariably works.
  13. Not quite in the same league as the electric turbo version of course
  14. Just catching up after a fortnight's hols... think this is an excellent idea. A month or so back I attended a Performance Driver Training Day at Alconbury, run by Ben Elliot Racing. Although Ben also offers specific track day training the emphasis on our day was very much on applying high speed car control skills to everyday driving situations e.g. cornering techniques, weight transfer, braking, heel & toeing etc. Pitched at just the right level so all attendees got something out of the day (we had both complete novices and one or two fairly experienced track day warriors). Ben's a super bloke too (he also works for a rather well known F1 team) IIRC the cost for the whole day (8:30 - 4:30) was approx.
  15. Just so happens that the Product Test in last week's Auto Express was on batteries. Top 3 from the 10 tested were:- 1. Exide X-Tra Plus (Best Buy) 2. Halfords Standard 3. Halfords Advanced* (Calcium) * "The advanced range of batteries uses calcium technology, which bumps up the price, warranty, and in theory, performance. However, while we cannot complain about this unit's five starts from cold, or the 225 minute bulb test time, the products non-calcium stablemate outperforms it. And it is quite a bit cheaper too." Edit - Was going to offer to email a copy over to you but just found it on their website - clicky
  16. I suspect the fact that the dealer taxed the car before/when you bought it may actually strengthen your case, Alex. At the end of the day, your tax disc specifically states that it expires 31/10/07. The fact that the DVLA and/or Post Office issued it in error surely means it should be down to them. Or at least that would undoubtedly be the case in the private sector...
  17. Ah, that'll be why you're not answering your moby then
  18. Excellent news matey Look forward to seeing it very soon. :P
  19. And there was me thinking that the act of compressing air would produce heat. Just shows how wrong you can be - evidently it actually cools it Not entirely convinced by the claim that the fan 'fractures air molecules' either...
