  1. C'mon chaps, be nice Bearing in mind that we all met and AEG was subsequently conceived/formed as a direct result of our membership of LEF, the two groups are now inextricably linked... for all the right reasons So there really can be no argument - LEF's url should appear on any AEG promotional material. Owen has already acknowledged this and I'm sure that with his undoubted graphic design skills he'll be able to incorporate the LEF address in the AEG logo without taking anything away from the original design. Then, if a member of the public sees one of our cars and wants to learn more about us and/or the cars they'll know exactly where to look... which can only be to everyone's benefit. Nifty, if it's any consolation I too had a crap day yesterday - everything I touched seemed to go wrong Went out with some friends for an excellent Italian meal last night, ate far too much, drank even more, last to leave the restaurant and couldn't even see the PC when I got home let alone type anything - but at least the world seemed a slightly better place Onwards and upwards people!
  2. What was your impression - and the other drivers' - of how the GT3 performed/handled compared to the cars you've just mentioned?
  3. Blimey, that's come on a lot since I last had a peek. Looking good
  4. Thanks for sharing those, Nick. Superb record of what was obviously a huge amount of fun Particularly liked the look of this But wasn't quite so sure about this
  5. Happy Birthday Mike Hope you have a great day! James
  6. Erm, Rutland you say? Clicky (post #88) & clicky As far as 4th September is concerned, we're all at Pinky's birthday party on the 8th and then again a fortnight later for the Factory Weekend thingy. If you do decide to also meet on the 4th you'll probably have to count me out as I'll be in manic 'head down' mode as I endeavour to clear my desk prior to a fortnight's holiday - no going out to play after work for me that week
  7. I'm sure we've had a thread on this before but can't find it at the moment. IIRC several fairly plausible theories have been put forward over the years but nobody has ever provided a definitive answer.
  8. Yep, that was certainly the area that was mooted in the original thread. Some cracking, relatively empty, roads passing through very attractive countryside/villages. Quite a few excellent food orientated pubs too if we fancy some lunch. Sound ok to you Howard? Or do you have any alternative suggestions? (I did wonder about Duxford but at around 1hr 40 mins from Birmingham decided it might be just a bit too far for you chaps?) James Also sounds good.
  9. Oi, Kimbers! Who are you calling fat?!?! Just energy reserves for the winter dear boy!
  10. Oi!! Less of yer lip yer cheeky young monkey... I quite like my wood (ooh err!) in a retro cheesy kind of way Did you find the For Sale section over on LEW?
  11. You can just see one (heater/AC panel) in the top right corner of this photo. The one that controls the instrument panel is in the top left corner.
  12. More info here, Mark. Could be a fun project?
  13. They're the cheap(er) bits on a 4 pot Esprit
  14. Welcome to LEF Yes, an Esprit can be run as an everyday car. But you need to be prepared for the fact that servicing/parts costs are relatively high. A budget of
  15. Yum... Chablis Contribution on its way.
  16. Just think about it. A '1987' V8 Esprit, the provenance of which the seller doesn't know/ can't explain? Asking price of
  17. Excellent! Good effort chaps That's at least four of us, and hopefully more to come. Howard, look forward to seeing you and rest of the NMEG crew in February!
  18. I'd second Nifty's suggestion of The Pykkerrel at Ixworth for our first Suffolk meet. Just north of Bury St Edmunds so fairly central and easily accessible. As to the best day for our regular AEG meets Tuesdays are good for me. Not fussed which one as I really can't see myself ever wanting to go to a SELOC meet Would be great if we could also get out for a Sunday morning hoon from time to time. Maybe once every 2 or 3 months initially? So not a huge commitment time wise. We also need to get back to Howard who's been waiting patiently for our answer on a combined NMEG/EAG operation in February. I'm certainly up for it, as was Nifty I believe - anyone else?
