  5. So, are there any thoughts on the lotus festival in august this year? Is there a group situation for going, traveling, staying over, entrance, displays....
  6. Any news on this? Is there going to be a presence?
  7. Mark, think we talked about chargecoolers last time I saw you last year? I did mention converting to an electric pump as the way to go...as for the overflow of coolant. I have just the single header on my s4, yours is the twin type? As the outlet from the chargecooler to radiator is next to the bleed hose, which is the one you talk of, they share the same chamber inside the chargecooler unit, under the filler plug. As the coolant flows through the cooler and out, a certain amount will flow down that route to the header tank.i woukdnt worry about that. The main concern is the fact its not cold. As mentioned, change to an electric pump. It cuts out any hassle and is more reliable/ efficient.if you have a radiator issue...youve stilk got. The spare rad? Eventually if you have an air lock in the system, it should bleed out. My money is on changing the pump as we previously talked. Youve got my number, give me a call if you like. Darren
  8. Good stuf, I can rebuild my other one now then too!
  9. Well, as with most of us a pre putting away wash and polish. Then make a list of all the little jobs that need doing and tackle them while its on sorn. Why waste good driving days in the year working on her when thats what winter is for? Assuming the car is garaged of course...battery conditioner on, regular starts and running up to temp of course when you can. Then when the good weather comes round, shell be tip top, fully serviced for the years use job done.
  10. Sounds gd to me. The trip, the horlickin n breakfast...( legal disclaimer - no children have yet been sold to fund this ocassion)

    Hello?

Well why dont we each take it in turns each month then..unless one of us comes up with apants idea then the rest of us can hijack that month and decide between us...
  13. I stripped my tr7 ones a few years back. Are they not the same motor unit? Not that this helps cause I cant remember how I did them now...but it was straight forward and I just used normal grease on reassembly.
  14. Sorry, didnt think to look where you are! Well im sure the parts will be available readily somewhere. Although im sure a few owners will have new spares ftom the factory sale last year or so. I bought a spare last year, just fitted it as my original began to leak a little.

    Hello?

And as dave and I said earlier, with the winter weather upon us....if you cant use it properly...then put it away....funny thing though, my first girlfriend told me that too...
  16. Its saginaw, it came from the gm parts bin.there are places that can rebuild these pumps in the uk.
  17. Dam those clever buggers...unless it was some.sort.of cornering weight perhaps...but me thinks it will be redundant anyhow.now as I will bet some real genuine money dave has drunk the carfully measured contents!
  18. Was.that a genuine equipment bud can? were all.aware.of.the amazing solutions lotus can come up with with a very low.budget....
  19. Looks like a.team effort from the amount splashed everywhere!
  20. Yup, available from caravan components for 9 quid plus postage...
  21. No problems, yes I expected a higher pressure too, but it appears not so. Give espritmon a run on your car and see what your mat temp is running at. Mine stays super cool at abou 32 degrees... The worn impellot blades could either be a lower grade impellor as there are different qualities available, or a damaged housing causing premature wear..either way it doesnt matter as you can now fit and forget! Unless the charge radiator needs changing in the future!
  22. The one that is inline with the body of the pump is what I meAn as the top inlet, the one that comes out to the side at 90 degrees to the body is the outlet. The pump outlet goes direct to the chargecooler, the pump inlet direct from the chargecooler radiatior. Cooled water is drawn from the radiator into the pump, pushed through the chargecooler, then exits back to the radiator where its pulled back by the pump once cooled...follow me? Oh and the clip you mention im guessing is a crimp type hose clip...cut it off and replace with a stainless steel hose clip...as with all hose clips!
  23. Well a 4 mile trip isnt really that much and as mentioned with the cold weather and damp conditions...however, mineral oil will break down quickly...and if there are any engine breather leaks, whether your aware of them or not, this will allow extra moisture and air into the system.. Creating the emulsion you describe. Worst case is the head gasket has a slight leak, but you should see evidence in the header tank too. Do you let the engine warm up fully before driving each journey? Oh, is yours a carb or injection turbo?
