  1. Sorry I really don’t understand your logic. Take Wellingborough for example. Conservatives share of votes down 37.6%. Reform up (from 0%) by 13%. Labour up by 19.5%. So how do you reconcile from those figures that Reform are winning votes from the Conservatives but Labour are not? It doesn’t make any sense.
  2. I read his statement as only Reform Party candidates are winning votes from the Conservatives, not Labour. The data shows that BOTH of these Parties are winning considerable votes off the Conservatives. Rishi’s now stuck between a rock and a hard place, as his share dwindles.
  3. Not sure I agree with that statement. Wellingborough: Labour share of vote up 19.5% Kingswood: Labour share of vote up 11.5% The Reform Party (formerly known as Brexit Party) didn’t contest these seats in 2019, so every vote they got was new at 13% and 10.4% respectively. There’s no doubt that they are taking votes away from the Conservatives though, which is something Rishi can ill afford at the General Election.
  4. Yes confirmed location is important. EVO once asked me to bring along my Subaru 22B to a large group photo shoot, being held nearby, only to change to a different location 100 odd miles away a few days prior to the event. It was a regular work day, so I had to turn them down. Still it had already been featured a year or two before, so it was no great loss:
  5. Boner, his missus and the Conservative Party got what they deserved in Wellingborough yesterday. Their vote share fell 37.6% and conceded a safe seat majority of over 18,000 and even ended up with a deficit to Labour of a comfortable 6,400. Good riddance.
  6. I was talking to a friend of mine in India the other day who owns fleets of taxis in a few cities there. He had been considering investing in some electric cars but hadn’t realised the negligible vehicle value after the battery guarantee expires. He keeps his petrol and diesel cars for many years and they are all well maintained and provide an additional major source of income to the company when sold (he owns lots of them). He could not afford to effectively scrap them. As a an aside Tata has recently introduced an indigenous EV hatchback that some taxi companies are also using. I saw one grind to a halt on a busy Bangalore flyover, presumably due to an empty battery.
  7. Just back from a business trip and my office phone line is dead. I then go online to report the fault to BT Business and type in my phone number to check the line and “start fixing”. However, I then get an immediate error message claiming that the number I have entered is not a valid BT number, so they cannot check it. Funny that. It’s the same phone number BT Business has been providing for me for the past 18 years and is the same number allocated to my online account with them and for which I have been billed all these years. It seems that the bigger the company, the worse the website experience. I’m looking at you BT, Vodafone and British Airways.
  8. I found his Radio 1 show really annoying to be honest. Particularly the “posse” nonsense, which he brought across from America and still annoys me to this day: why do we need 3 people to present one music radio show?
  9. Didn’t seem appropriate to photograph it, but the other day I saw a WC sign in an Indian airport for the “Differently abled”. Made me smile. 😃
  10. I think we’re only just conforming. I think I read 2.07% somewhere, so not really subsidising the others. Some people mock our large projects like the aircraft carriers, but at least they’re a tangible asset that the public can see. Much of our tax money goes down a black hole.
  11. I find that amazing. The Type 14 is an absolute iconic design and a match for anything produced elsewhere. Coupled with the Coventry Climax engine, racing pedigree and rarity, to me it should be a 6 figure car all day long. I would put them a full step above any road going Elan 26 or Europa. As for historic racing classes, they have been a farce for years, thanks to paid hot shoes in Touring Car team prepared A35s, A40s and Austin Westminsters. What’s tricky about ownership? Please note that this question comes from someone who’s first car was a Hillman Imp.
  12. Hey if times are tough up there, you can revert to FFM. No invasions necessary.
  13. Tyres still don’t fit inside the 993 GT2 / 2002 Turbo arches. What’s with the tissue paper trail from the driver’s seat? It’s not that sexy.
  14. Lovely car. 100% keep the stripes on. They are part of the identity of the car.
  15. RIP Mitzy. Our two youngsters (6 months) woke us up this morning by miaowing from the utility room that they sleep in. We ignored them. My wife eventually got up for her shower, but there was no hot water, so we went down to feed the cats and realised what the reason was. They had somehow turned the utility room hot water tap on and emptied the entire contents of our hot water tank straight down the drain. Thanks a lot. They are much naughtier than their predecessors.
  16. Lovely. Having been brought up on steel wheels, it always amazes me how modern alloys are strong enough to have such slender spokes, despite the G-forces they have to deal with.
  17. The stated output is not far off the 385bhp dyno quoted by @TheKevlarKid for his Swindon GTE engine, so it sounds about right for your car. Stratton bought up the unused parts and chassis for the GTE programme and apparently installed one of the engines in your car.
  18. Yes but not just any old Bell 222 though. It’s the special Mach 2 supersonic version.
  19. I was referring to the linked BBC article which says our army totals 73,000. Not sure what a Navy carrier has to do with the price of fish.
  20. You could fit our entire army inside Old Trafford football stadium and still have over a thousand empty seats.
  21. My mate’s wife had one (a 75 I think) for years and years. She used it as her daily driver. They used to spend the winters in sunnier climes and would ask me to look after their cars whilst they were away (the P4 Rover and a Morgan +8 3.9). They were both absolute b!tches to drive, particularly in an urban environment. At least the Morgan had acceleration and noise going for it, but the Auntie Rover had no redeeming features IMO.
  22. Your optimism was fully justified. My son has just got his latest payslip and the incorrectly deducted tax has now been refunded and his tax code corrected. 👍
  23. Reminds me of pre-9/11 Ryanair flights. Always enjoyed watching the reverse thrust nacelles clanking into position on landing. I am sure some other passengers thought bits were falling off the engines!
