  1. Can't dispute this. I've had an NA and a 400. If I were ever to buy another I'd buy an NA (but more likely a 4 pot Emira). For road use, unless you live on the IOM, the 400 is just too fast to enjoy the cars performance and hope to keep your licence. The NA is pretty much perfect, so IMHO, save the money and buy an NA over an S - you won't benefit from the extra outlay. Just my opinion.
  2. The Forged and Cast are the same size. It is the 19/20s that are different, but I'm not sure what they called them. As long as you don't have the turbines then all is good (nb, this comment doesn't apply to drug dealers) Or you could have bought a set from Lotus for £600 when they cleared the warehouse
  3. We used to holiday with my aunt and uncle several times a year, very close as a family...... until they manoeuvred my grandparents. Mum hasn't spoken to her sister in 30 years now.
  4. I can recommend it to anyone 😉 Yep crazy. The red interior is fantastic. I just don’t get why people want black on black interiors.
  5. I've been saying it since the my teens/early 90s. Always said that we'd only have 2 kids as there were too many people on the planet and therefore no-one should more than "replace themselves" and that way those having less will gradually reduce the population. ...... then had 3 kids, so I'm a hypocrite.
  6. Only one solution, Population control, but no-one will grasp that particular nettle.
  7. You could put it up in the bedroom. Above the headboard I think would be ideal.
  8. Don't blame you.... however if you change your mind gimme a shout.
  9. This ones getting a lot more work than the spitfires. Is this one a keeper?
  10. Exactly @LotusLeftLotusRight So much for family values. I get hit by bloody everything. Sorry, but in some ways nice to know I'm not alone!! Being salaried doesn't help either.
  11. The elephant in the room (mass generalisation coming - based upon our being able to afford "toys" but plastic ones rather than carbon fibre ones) is that I suspect that most of us are going to get hit extremely hard in the pocket with tax rises to pay for all of this, which will dwarf inflation. I suspect many of us are in the "well off enough that everyone thinks we are rich" bucket, but not in the "Rich enough to find ways to avoid paying what the government decides is our fair share" bucket. What especially pisses me off is that in our household 90%+ of the income is from me. So we have a lot of friends whose incomes are split more evenly and earn a lot more than the 2 of us combined, but also pay a lot less tax.
  12. For sure, the gap between the interest rates charged and given is a disgrace. So long as I have a mortgage my savings go into the offset account. Credit cards the same - ramping up the charges to retailers and at the same time removing cashback/rewards from the consumers.
  13. OMG, now Evil Kranky wants to cut the bottom off of classroom doors to aid airflow. So we are spending £Billions on rectifying building defects, including replacing faulty or inadequate fire doors and the stupid woman wants to cut the bottom off of them in schools.
  14. These are a bit unusual, push fit female to compression female so not sure what they are for unless a fixture has a copper tail on it. (tap connector would usually be one or other of these at one end and either 1/4BSP female or the microbore male at the other end). Wouldn't recommend reusing old flexi connectors. The way I look at it is that if you are replacing the taps/kitchen/bathroom then presumably it is because it is dated or faulty - given that these are rubber cored they have a limited lifespan - therefore if replacing the fixture then it would usually be a good idea to replace these hoses too. For the same reason I wouldn't use ones that have sat around for a long time, best bin them and buy new ones as/when needed. Unfortunately these days it's almost impossible to hard plumb things in - taps especially.
  15. Wife was a shielder. We’d do it for them. Neither had an issue with it. As I said they tend to vanish to their bedrooms anyway. Personally I think not taking the vaccines and boosters is a worse position to take. But there we go again with our different opinions. 🤷‍♂️
  16. No need for that. My 22 year old and 16 year old caught it at different times. Banished them to their bedrooms and their bathroom - barely noticed a difference!!! BTW, the 16 year old has a part time job in a care home so has to do a weekly PCR. This showed up as positive, but she had no symptoms at any time and did a load of lateral flows through isolation etc and each and every one was negative.
  17. I've never understood this furniture thing. Ordered a Chair between Christmas and the New Year - delivery......... May. FFS are they growing the timber for the frame to order?
  18. Happy Birthday Andy. Has anyone warned Laithwaites...
  19. Yes it is. Like many owners I had the stripes removed before I collected it. They were a bit much IMHO.
  20. That's what I meant!! Oops Those that want a car will lease them, just like their phones, music, homes, movies. Crikey with most of them you are lucky if they own the clothes on their back.
  21. My daughter is 17 in May and we’ve been discussing this. Planning on doing a manual test as she likes driving (as in go karts). Been showing up her older brothers since she was 13. I think she may want to be able to drive future classics. I suspect it won’t be long until almost all new tests are manual. I wonder if eventually the auto test will entitle you to drive manuals too. We don’t after all have to take a test to drive a model A.
  22. I take offense at naming a street after a violent criminal that has no link to the locale. If they want to pick a local victim who was not a scourge on society, then no issue.
  23. Try one. I have always hated Autos too. My first Evora was a manual, the second (the one I sold yesterday) is an auto. On the road they really are great.
  24. Well if anyone is looking there is an absolutely first class 1 owner Hethel Edition at Hofmanns who supplied the car and serviced it from new. I've no interest in the vehicle as they bought it outright, but if anyone wants info on it then feel free to PM me.
