  1. Im not a fan of mesh if I'm honest, I just don't like the look of it, hence why I've gone this route vs say the WinAce items. That open aperture of the scoop just looks cool so im keen to not hide it with front facing mesh. However, I do feel protection is required, mesh will be used at the rear of the scoop. On the intake side, I'm getting a round mesh frame made (example below), this will sit into the OEM intake elbow (red circle). The intake elbow is taken off the OEM scoops and re-attached to the carbon scoop as part of the install process. As the mesh is on the inside of the intake elbow it makes it both compatible with folks running a standard OEM airbox as well as those running KT or alias23 intake. The mesh will not be visible but I'll likely get it anodised black to satisfy my OCD. On the other side of the car the rear mesh if you look into the scoop is 'just' visible, so ill be looking to use anodised black mesh (example below) which will be bonded into place. Thanks to those who've ordered. I'll be looking to complete final numbers over the weekend and ordering with the supplier Monday.
  2. Anyone going? Via Circuit Days
  3. Thank You Guys... I think @Jack is also joining us on our order. I'll have final numbers over the weekend and then look to get our order in early next week.
  4. Great to see you here buddy and the car looks great in the videos... nice sills by the way
  5. I'll be looking to add anodised black mesh to the rear of the internal scoops to stop any 'bad' stuff getting in (just like the 430). However on the air intake side you would need to add the mesh yourself (as I don't have your intake scoop - you reuse the factory one). So the scoops won't be completely open on the kit supplied. Im very happy with the carbon weave and finish and would class it as good, being honest OEM weave is better and would class as 'excellent', but I dont think you would notice in reality and I dont feel the difference warrants the high OEM price. @GFWilliams and @RRSSS have seen the weave in person so may be open to comment. As requested by a few folks link to the pre-order for more info: https://alias23.com/collections/exige-s3-v6-all-products/products/exige-430-cup-style-extended-cf-scoops
  6. Okay guys with the Brexit situation delayed a little longer I think im going to look to offer a pre-order on the carbon extended sills. We need a minimum of three orders to get things moving. Details as follows: The kit would include: - Pair of Extended Carbon Scoops (with carbon to the edge no black line) - Pair of Smooth Internal scoops (painted black) - Pro Bolt Anodised Black fixings - All necessary riv nuts and rivets - Anodised Black Mesh for the rear of the internal scoops - Satin black vynl for side sills Price would be £935 + Shipping. Based on pre-orders being taken over the next week or so we'd then look to get an agreement from the supplier to have all scoops shipped to me for end of November. Please let me know if interested. Thanks
  7. Thanks to everyone for their messages, I thought it easier just to post here, I’ve worked on the figures and if we can get to a minimum order of three sets I can get to £935 for an initial pre order batch. This would include obviously the pair of scoops, fitting instructions (step by step photos), ProBolt black anodised fixings inc counter sunk washers (£50 alone!), and delivery to the U.K. ^^ Above is a little dependant on Brexit as if things change dramatically so could the price as it’s all a bit unknown ^^ Speaking with the supplier I’m getting assurances on a production slot for mid November with a shipping date two weeks later. Let me know if interested.
  8. Folks I hope to give more info soon so please bear with
  9. Full instructions im working on should I release as a product
  10. Very true ... but remember the car is generally track orientated anyway... I should I know but finding someone local and finding time is always a challenge for me I'm afraid. Im guessing in a few years I'll probably get everything removed and re-sprayed anyway so will tackle it then lol
  11. Most manufacturers now encrypt their ECUs as standard. You just see a lot more ECU tuning options available for different marques because the size of the market is much larger and therefore the ECU wizards who find their way through the encryption can justify the cost, resource, and time to make it happen as the market size is big enough to justify. However the Lotus marquee is actually very very small in terms of market size and therefore opportunity. I've personally been looking to find a way into the ECU for my own usage and it is not easy which arguably it shouldn't be as its encrypted. The fact that some tuners have spent the time (it wouldn't surprise me if we're talking a few 100 hours) and invested to find a way should be applauded in my opinion as again the market size is soo small at least their looking to bring something to the market for us to benefit. I don't see it as a deliberate monopoly.
  12. I think what folks are saying is to use Komotec for the dyno measurement (only). If Komotec feel it is incorrect, you then have a proper dyno measurement validated by someone who knows what they're doing to then go to your original lotus dealer to make a warrant claim (if appropriate).
  13. Its crazy to think how year on year Panda evolves not just in slight increments but sizeable step changes, this year to date I have to say the big improvements for sure are the revised intake and the 350 gear shift mechanism... but before the season ends another addition in the way of enlarged scoops and carbon fibre porn! It can only mean the side scoops are now installed 25mm bigger in all the right places which can only mean better air flow for the intake and cooling for the engine! Is this the last upgrade for the year... well I do get bored over winter so we'll see...
  14. So someone like Lotus Silverstone or HPE Auto would easily be able to get them done in 3 hours I reckon and I’d be happy to give them a call to walk them through the install. As you’d expect I’ll be looking to do full photo step by step guide as standard.
  15. From my initial review the intake pipe is a lot bigger on the 430 Cup.
  16. Well the end result is in and im very happy! Yes the install was a little daunting at first, but actually quite easy and no way as scary or as difficult as it may look! The fitment especially the top contour of the scoop against the clam is very good! For sure they do add a more dramatic profile to the side of the car. I do like the 'open' look of the scoop as opposed to mesh and like the 430 Cup the internal scoop is super smooth. I used Pro Bolt for proper anodised fixings vs the screws Lotus seem to procure from B&Q! Ignore any white 'markings' in the pics its basically fibreglass dust from the diamond cutter and the car definitely needs a good wash! And now for the money shot! Yes.... 25mm enlargement in scoop aperture!!!!! Which can only be a positive for increased air flow to the intake and also additional cooling into the engine bay. I may look to relocate my gearbox oil cooler from underneath the car to behind the drivers side scoop over winter. A quick test drive and weirdly the cars supercharger sounds even louder! Returning back home and good poke around and everything is still solid and tight. So all in all very happy boy and definitely worth the wait! ... before you ask... yes a few folks have already asked if I'll be looking to get a pre-order underway and I'm talking to the manufacturer to finalise pricing but more importantly get a firm commitment on delivery dates based on a bulk order
  17. So your original dyno beginning of Sept (first post) was around 250 then second dyno (download) is again around 250.... torque seems okay at around 375... power does seem to drop after 6k revs but again this seems consistent on both graphs. To confirm this is a standard car with no performance modifications correct.
  18. Haha 😆 Just a little old V6S with an alias23 intake and a big wing 😆
  19. Well no going back now! I started cutting into the clam and used a diamond dust hole cutter to make the necessary holes to remove the protrusion of the OEM mounting points. Have to say in reality a very easy job when taking care and really isn't as daunting as it is to do in real life. I then sought to test fit the internal scoops and make the necessary markings for the new mounting points which would be secured via riv nuts. The keen eyed amongst you will notice the new satin vynl cut and applied to the side sill. You'll also see the internal scoops seem to actually be also carbon composite vs grp which is what I originally expected. On another positive the OEM intake scoop which is basically a 90 degree bend that comes of the OEM side scoops and directs air to the intake in the engine bay can be easily retro fitted to the internals on the new scoops. At this moment I've fitted the internals using the OEM bolts but have already ordered some nice black anodised items from Pro Bolt (currently in the post). With the internal scoops fitted I've gone on to test fit the outer carbon shells. To fit the outer shells I need to panel bond them to the internal scoops then fix them using two bolts to the side sills. Which is a job I hope to do over the weekend as I want to take my time especially as the panel bonding makes things semi permanent! I've decided to try self tapping bolts (again from Pro Bolt) as from what I've seen the factory uses screws from B&Q, so I'll hold on additional riv nuts, and see if I can make it a nice fitment using anodised self tapping Allen bolts. Should work fine and makes the install easier. Hope to complete Saturday night so assuming weathers good get the car out for a wash Sunday and little test drive. Up to now the wait has been worth it!
  20. Or take the great car you have and go visit Komotec in Germany
  21. I think a lot of folks use Royal Steering Wheels and they seem okay and reasonable value. Then you have D:Class which is much more premium and bespoke and as such so can be the price. I’ve used neither personally but just passing on what I know from other threads...
  22. At the moment im really struggling with time to work on my own car and install the new scoops. However this week I've made a start and looked to do a little every night. I started with the passenger side which is where the main air scoop goes to the intake, I thought I'd start this side first as its got a little more complications involved with the air scoop to the intake. Removing the scoops is actually quite easy, two torx on the front grill (green tabs), then two 10mm bolts inside (blue), there's a third 10mm (red) which is accessed once removing the wheel arch liner. Now comes the big step the new internal scoops require the two blue highlighted fixing points to be cut down flush to the bodywork so they can align and then be fixed by new riv nuts. Ill be looking to start this step Friday night (eek)
  23. I think every lotus from factory which has been dynod has generally underperformed.
