Are the boost gauges accurate?
Barrykearley replied to GreenGoddess's topic in Induction/Turbo/Manifold/Exhaust
Wastegate stuck chap - common old thing. That’s why I’ve opted to convert mine to the more modern setup -
I’ve had two EVs which have done over 150k between them. First was a leaf followed by a Kona. The latter was much more developed and range was superb. did I enjoy driving them - well probably not - but they were easy to drive Having seen the lotus offering - I do think they look far more preferable to anything else on the market. It will be interesting to see how lotus EVs compare to others whose values are absolutely collapsing.

@JimmytheTurbo the trouble is they sit in opposition and state they don’t need a manifesto for government since they are presently just opposing and not seeking election at this stage. It is a bizarre part of our current political system. all politicians seem to simply just argue with the other side and criticise without putting forward my credible alternatives. personally I think labour will win the next election and they will as always monumentally screw up the economy. I did really well out of the last shower - so frankly I’m looking forward to them having another go at bankrupting the uk. what we really really need is a credible alternative to vote for and I do see the reform party making waves so let’s see where that goes.

She’s either gonna end up standing against rishi in a future leadership challenge or I can see her defecting to reform
-
Wow she’s not held back there - she’s gonna strike a chord with so many folks

This afternoon Danny arrived home with a new UJ. So time for some spanner work a relatively simple job thankfully. The one we removed was almost impossible to move on the one axis. A £17.21 part from a land rover parts bin and for the first time since the mot history first advisory in 2010 the wee elan has effortless power steering once more.
-
How is it even possible to appoint someone to cabinet whom isn’t a serving MP?.. this is bizarre at best
-
Ahh there is indeed a second UJ on these cars - job for tomorrow me thinks
-
I’m so sorry to read that @mayevora - I really do hope things are improving for you. my only advice is to forget them they are totally useless. At one point I was seriously tempted to apply for a shotgun license 🤣. I bet they would have acted really bloody quick to safeguard my kids…. the police are a joke. The laws are there for them to utilise but they systematically fail at law enforcement. The stuff my family have experienced is horrific - the police put it down to civil matters. It’s clear cut domestic abuse all documented with social services we have fraud, theft, threats to kill, violence the list goes on and on. My kids will never ever trust a single police officer again

Mot passed today. one advisory - notchy steering -a common elan issue it would seem. New UJ in order and we will have a looksee on the ramp. Dunno if it’s just one or two of those on these - but the one down the bottom inside the car by the pedals looks to be ok

Today was the day to get the Elan on the ramp. Oil, Oil filter, air filter, spark plugs, fuel filter, strip rear brakes and refit, clean front calipers and bleed brakes, drop and replace the coolant Car now sat down for mot. One things for sure though - the steering is vile and notchy. Dunno if it’s the pump or the rack - I’m sure Tracey will be able to advise. 4 new tyres will be the very next thing to address. Danny has sorted his own insurance on it and it was actually cheaper than his own main car.
-
Not a single political party are intent on tackling crime - nor immigration. They are all a joke. As for the police - they are nothing short of a disgrace - I have absolutely zero time for them after what my family have been put through. One things for sure - we are ebbing ever closer to meaningful change by way of power vacuum. There are now becoming more and more people whom are disaffected and feeling let down.
-
They’re Danny’s - he’s curling his feet up after a day of slavery 🤪

@Dave Eds I’ve been trying to post on Lotus Elan Central but it’s not allowing me to - any ideas how this works?.

The cars in later years of my marriage was a huge huge distraction @USAndretti42. In fact they still are and Danny bought his first lotus at 19 the weekend. Me and my son are now working together sparking and have 4 chicken sheds to fit new lighting into presently. Life is absolutely epic. the new partner interestingly came out of nowhere - and she is incredible - probably met her a year or two earlier than I thought id even consider dating 🤣. After 21 years of hell myself - she had 17 years - together we know exactly what we don’t want. The kids are all thriving - I am so proud of each one of them - they really have been through a lot. My youngest got the worst of it - years of her mum telling her how she wanted to stab me through the heart with a knife really had a bad impact - something I’ve only just found out. funny you mention the punchbag 😂 - there’s one in the house - and a pair of lotus elan seats on the side 😎
-
Took the seats out last night and hoovered out the significant debris and mouse eggs. Seats fully cleaned and treated. tonight was clean all the internal carpets on the car. Battery had been on charge since yesterday and amazingly that charged and started the car. All locks and catches sprayed and freed up. I have to say - it’s really cleaned up well
-
We have evicted the mice from the boot tonight - and the rubbish out of it. plans are being considered and he is very excited to get it serviced and ready for mot.
