There’s been some odds and ends fitted on the engine too

Today was prep the cabin time. A few brackets prepped and painted. New carpets are on order from the one and only carpet guru @Steve V8and since they are so incredible it’s only right they are put into a clean cabin. Leather trim that was removed now in the side in the kitchen soaking in Naf leather soap - this stuff is about the best you will ever find to make leather supple again - I’ve tried loads of different stuff but this is without doubt the best there is. We will do the dash and door cards tomorrow.

Looking for a turbocharger for an Esprit. I’m swapping out the external system on the St Tropez for the later system. It needs to be for a carb turbo 1988 type that’s watercooled. If I’m right anything from then all the way to S4 cars would be suitable. Not fussed if it requires rebuild - but must be uk based and no scammers

A trip to the shops for new hoses this morning and clips. 5m of 6,8,10,13mm fuel hose and clips etc come to a grand sum of £65. All new fuel hoses fitted to the engine today with clips. Carbs mounted to the 2p standard. Water pipes to inlet manifold fitted. Some other pipes fitted to the lump. Danny has washed the thing off - and stripped out all the old carpet and underlay. The fiddly stuff really has taken ages today but we do have progress. I can’t help but keep looking at the auxiliary belt pulleys on this thing and think something is wrong on the water pump side of things. It never had any of those belts fitted when it come to me. I’ll need to find some pics online.

Today has been very busy indeed. Had Danny and Nobby assisting today and we have got loads done. the bulkhead has been repaired, reglassed and engine bay painted. engine has had valve clearances checked. Cam belt and tensioner done. Alunox fitted. Carbs on, powder coated bits fitted. Loads and loads of paper, bubble wrap and boxes now tidied up and ready for the fire. There’s lots left to do - but wow - what a difference and some real progress.

I noted that @910Esprit - I have a full rebuild kit for the tensioner that has that bit in it. Just had a chat with Dave whom has confirmed green dot pulleys are indeed correct for the car - so I will get the belt sorted and timed up tomorrow.

Right then - a lot of dust has settled on the car - but now it’s time to roll the sleeves up this week. the only thing that’s bugging me is the cam pulleys on this thing. Both Green dots and defo both a whole tooth out from TDC. tomorrow some progress will be made. manifold studs finally arrived a couple of weeks ago. All the intake stuff has been powder coated black. All new stainless fixings for that in a heap. Carbs have been fully rebuilt by dellorto, best not to ask the cost of that 😂, alunox ready to fit. new set of carpets ordered from the best carpet maker on tlf 👌 just need to find the car under the dust

Still very much ongoing as a saga. This week we have been referred to the local Marac board - god only knows if that will change anything but they believe there is a very real risk to us all. The system is an utter joke.

I don’t understand why that is being given any publicity. The only headline should be pervert rapist deserves to die in prison.

Police in my experience don’t if they can’t be arsed. my kids have lodged complaints of theft against their mother whom is wilfully withholding possessions. Police have crimed it as theft and simply closed the case. They ain’t one bit interested. Tell me again how good the police are - cos all I see is a bunch of utter tosspots whom are ineffective

Today it’s taken a pretty dark turn. the story starts yesterday afternoon. I’m at home minding my own business and two retriever dogs are playing with the traffic in the road and end up coming into my garden. Collars but no tags. Now I’m fairly sure they were in the care of ex wife. so the only thing I can do is pop them to the local vets - which I did. Job done. Vets ring owner - owner on holiday the dogs were at the dog sitters. Hmmmm. Now all though the Xmas period come wind and rain there have been dogs running free in the garden. The barking could be heard under the worst of weather conditions. this morning - I jump in the van to go to work - drive halfway up the drive to be met by the very same two dogs playing in the road. In the van they go, another post on Facebook, and after yesterdays I have a damn good idea just who’s dogs she is sitting. So I ain’t taking them to the same vets as I’m going the opposite direction. I ring the council dog warden. all holy hell let’s loose. A friend of mine is contacted and threatened my ex wife. She’s demanding to know where I am and what I’m doing. Apparently she’s reported me for stealing them. Her dad is ringing me and I’ve already got the first instance of harassment against him lodged. The owner is ringing my friend who’s the ex has been ranting at. My mate very clearly informs the lady just what I’ve been going through over the last near 2 years. an hour or so later the owner rings me - shes in tears and has been told I’ve stolen her dogs, twice. Some gentle education and the dogs are now at home with me after a good feed and play awaiting her son to pick them up. The damn right lies she’s has peddled to this lady is shocking. However they are now coming home from holiday a few days early to deal with matters. She doesn’t want the ex anywhere near her dogs now. yet another police incident logged.

@C8RKH my kids yesterday got to the end point - they have had enough and have reported mum for theft of their possessions. We are some 22months on from fleeing and the end is inevitable but very slow. So the police now have another 3 incidents from 3 separate people to deal with all because they are utterly ineffective at law enforcement. The domestic abuse act 2021 is very clear and they are completely failing in enforcing and protecting. They are snowed under with these issues because of their own ineptitude and a lack of enforcement. Had they done something months ago they wouldn’t have the workload they currently have from the impacts of one abusive drunk.

The 20000 uplift Boris announced probably just back filled empty spaces where the officers were suspended for their diabolical behaviour. Sorry that really was cynical.

There is no happy ending - just and end. It’s frustrating when that may come however.

It’s stopping that kills chap. If folks get a nice safe car they can smash into a tree rolling the car at 55mph whilst nearly twice the drink drive limits and still stagger away. They can then carry on drinking and driving for nearly 6 months until they are dragged kicking and screaming into the courts. The drink driving almost certainly just continues. Mr Smith doing 34 mph in a 30 is however a heinous criminal and needs to be persecuted, sorry punished, by the system as swiftly as possible.

Civil disobedience is inevitable when the balance of power swings too far. The French are inspiring at matters such as this.

It is harsh @C8RKH but sadly that’s the reality of the lived experience of my family and myself. the kids have today all independently filed theft complaints to the police regarding their items they cannot get returned. what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger hey 🤪

Yes the local MP has seen it all. I think it’s widely accepted the police in this country are a complete shit show. Let’s face it the MET appear to have been left unscathed by the media in all the Covid enquiry stuff - even though they were sat watching politicians party while persecuting members of the public.

It seems each and every incident is looked at on its own merit. This however is where West Mercia Police are failing. It is VERY explicit in the Domestic Abuse act 2021 that an overarching view should be taken with domestic incidents that repeat and are abusive. I have now put in a formal complaint asking very specific issues to be answered. It’s pointless no doubt - and I will NEVER assist the police in any way again and I’d doubt any of my kids would either.
