  1. Yes, welcome. I could be wrong but I am sure this car was for sale down Northampton way, the same year I bought mine(2016). I liked the look of it then so your right don't change them with the red calipers it's a great look.
  2. Today we sent off the paint filler cap for scanning. Chris who does the body work at my local Garage is very particular. He had sprayed a couple of samples up with some that were supposed to be the correct code. I was happy with one of them he was not with any of them. And showed me why I was wrong. He did his apprenticeship with Roll Royce, and stayed there his whole working life until he left because he did not want to move down to Goodwood. I will let you know how I get on.
  3. Ah. Now that I did not know. That complicates things even more. Any idea what sort of tint ?
  4. I have the code and it's C105, but the supplier does not have the formulation on there system. Lechler can do it but they need the filler cap and it needs to go to Germany to be scanned. Googling C105 does bring up suppliers but I am nervous about getting something as critical as this from an unknown source.
  5. Hello, After a little help. I have a 2014 Evora in Nightfall Blue C105. I am having some of the panels touched up before having new PPF fitted. But my local (trusted) paint supplier has no code for the Nightfall Blue. They are dealer for Lechler, they have been in touch with Lechler and the only thing they can offer is for us to send the fuel filler cap to Germany so they can create a match. I can just get some off the internet but has anyone got an online supplier they have used and could recommend ? Many thanks in advance.
  6. Finally finished fitting, good news is it now starts better than it ever has done in the five years I have owned it. The manufacturer of the starter was not aware that the bolts were metric fine, and with the 9 sold through AES no one has ever come back to them. Did Toyota change to metric course at some point ??? They did offer to find me some but I managed to source some correct thread socket screws from GWR in Oswestry, they had them on the shelf, which I was very surprised about. They were a bit longer then OE so needed 10mm cutting off both the M10 and the M12. There were also a few issues regarding fitting. Lotus put some sort of sealant along the top edge of the hole in the bell housing this needed to be cut away. Then the fixing flange fowled the bell housing directly below the M10 fixing, so that need filing down by about 1mm. I could of ground the starter down, but thought that may void the warranty. And as the housing in that area is cast to a point it really took very little effort. Also It is effectively upside down compared to the original (motor on top of the solenoid) which then means the wires are on the back toward the bottom, that makes fitting them a little blind and the starter switch wire is at its limits of stretch. I would not be surprised if anyone else trying a WOSP finds they have to lengthen that wire.
  7. This arrived yesterday but have been away, so only just looked at it. First impressions are it's well screwed together. And appears to have a better chance of not letting water in as there are gaskets of some sort either end of the motor casing. Bonus is I get another sticker for my tool box 👍. But fitting it is not going to be possible at the moment. This has come supplied with Socket head screws as the original flanged nut fowls the casing and working it past means a socket won't fit. But the socket screws provided are M12 1.75 thread and the original is M12 1.25 thread. I will be emailing them after this post.
  8. Yes I do have a Champ, there are quite a few left. It's certainly a labour of love. And mine was dispersed via Ruddington in '54 but I have been the first to register it for the road. And while it's mechanical's have had the odd exchange part the body work is all original. Rusty yes, rotten no apart from it needs a new passenger floor, leaky batteries have seen that off. Agree there is something with a design flaw. If it would not invalidate the warranty the new one would be getting filled with anti-perspirant deodorant and have a drain hole drilled in the motor housing.
  9. New one ain't here yet but thought I would take the old one off. Done easier things but have certainly done harder things too. And I take it all back, full of rust. Clearly water getting in somehow. Surprised it has not given up sooner. Not sure about the benefits of the WOSP high torque starter. Need a fully shielded underwater one like the one on me Austin Champ.
  10. Since owing mine it has been garaged all the time. Maybe rained on three / four times in five years. And the pipe is not cracked. So I would be surprised if water is the cause of my issues. I have ordered a WOSP, should be here on Tuesday. I will.then get my spanners out.
  11. Mine is 2014 and done 26k. And that does sound like how my symptoms started battery failed about a month / 6 weeks ago which I thought was a little odd because it is always on trickle charge. I just assumed that I had possibly not quite connected properly. Now after reading you reply I am thinking it must of been the starter that caused the drain. I am gunna take a punt on WOSP.
  12. Apologies if this has been asked before but I have done a few searches and nothing has come up. Has any one ever fitted a WOSP starter to their Evora ? https://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/mobile/product/1295/category/227 This is the link to it. Not coated a new lotus one. But is it me or does the WOSP seem too cheap ??? I am 99.9 % certain mine is goosed, tried several batteries that I know are good and sometimes it just clicks other times in does nothing then the odd time it turns the engine over painfully slowly. Also, and this may just be me but I am certain the last few times over the past month it seemed to turn over slower than usual.
  13. These may help your decision. Admittedly these are grey and diamond cut but if I had to choose a solid, it would be silver all day long.
  14. I can also vouch for the veepeak OBD reader. Bought one 12 months ago and works perfectly.
  15. From boring black to Lotus magnificence.
