  1. Bugger, so it’s you who beat me to it by a few hours!! I knew I should have put a bloody reserve on it…….enjoy.
  2. Fair play to the seller if he got close to the asking price.
  3. Lovely looking car, bonkers price as a private sale……
  4. I’ve actually test driven this car and have spoken with the previous owner. He only got rid as he moved and didn’t have a garage anymore. It was in pretty decent condition and although the service history isn’t fully complete it’s a lot better than some recent others. The sales bloke there was really good and allowed a proper test drive without me taking the piss and trying to kill us both. I was genuinely shocked at how great a drive the Evora is. It’s been reduced from 45K since I was there. The only thing stopping me buying it was that if the sun ever decides to make an appearance I’ll miss the roof off motoring all my other previous toys have allowed. They seemed a decent bunch so you never know, they might do a decent exchange on your Esprit.
  5. In a word no. I think the 390 is the same system as on the 4xx versions. 380’s might be the same/similar. As stated previously a few options for upgrades, 2ubular seems to be the popular option although I’d read the reviews first as timescales on production seem haphazard at best.
  6. Thanks, I’ve been doing a bit of digging and the 52K low mileage one was only registered in 2022, although built in 2016!! Looks like it sat in the old NI dealership for most of its life. Seems it was sold late last year and then quickly up for sale again which raises a bit of a red flag, although B & C carried out a service in Nov 23.
  7. Well after selling my 410 Exige last summer I have had no luck in finding anything even remotely as interesting……..so I’ve started looking at the Evora. These three have caught my eye and any views on them would be much appreciated. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202401185681246?sort=price-asc&advertising-location=at_cars&make=Lotus&model=Evora&page=2&postcode=Gl75rd&radius=1500&fromsra https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202312204947551?sort=price-asc&advertising-location=at_cars&make=Lotus&model=Evora&page=2&postcode=Gl75rd&radius=1500&fromsra https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202401105429958?sort=price-asc&advertising-location=at_cars&make=Lotus&model=Evora&page=2&postcode=Gl75rd&radius=1500&fromsra I should add I’ve driven a manual Emira and while it’s a fine car I just felt it was missing that raw edge and soundtrack.
  8. Well I’ll agree to disagree on the the above not reflecting falling values but agree wholeheartedly about CC being a gash way of selling a Lotus. Maybe I got lucky using Carwow, which is basically an auction, as I achieved a figure which I think I’d have struggled to get selling privately or having it sat at a dealers for months on SOR.
  9. Caffyns have just sold my old 410 20th which was in mint condition. I think the asking price started over 80 and dropped to mid 70’s. I obviously don’t know what it sold for but they’d had it six months. The yellow one above looks a nice example but doesn’t have carbon seats which I think is a big negative for 410’s as the majority have them. The best example of reducing values is a Laser Blue 410 20th on Collecting Cars which has just failed to sell. Less than 400 miles with extra carbon bits and looks brand new. It got to 66K but failed to meet the reserve. Six months ago that would have gone for way over 70K
  10. Fair enough but LF 1’s seem to have their own specific pricing……the worlds most expensive paint job!! I’ve never quite understood the appeal but each to their own. Virtually every car is stronger now than a few years ago thanks to Covid. It would be fair to say anyone who bought at mid 40’s isn’t going to lose sleep over depreciation.
  11. I’m not so sure they are. Decent cars at a decent price are selling but there are a large number that have been for sale for ages now. I’d hazard a guess most are on SOR and owners are still expecting Covid money. That time has gone and maybe expectations need downgrading. Dealer owned cars may have been bought at the height of the madness and so they don’t want to take a hit but as we head into winter the chances of selling decrease unless something gives.

    Final invoice

In this day and age absolutely farcical. If I was in this situation and didn’t have to commit to the purchase, I’d tell Lotus to bugger off and wait for the inevitable slide in barely used prices…….
  13. Reading this I’d have far more faith in some of the last 4xx Exige’s to get me from A to B rather than the shiny new kid in town….
  14. Great info here. I’ve just sold the 410 and having also had a Caterham I’m thinking about getting an Atom or Nomad. I’ve not phoned the factory yet but I’m guessing the waiting list will be in years rather than weeks. Used prices seem to be all over the place in what is a limited market so maybe time to do a bit of homework…..
