I mean to be fair, if someone offered me £20k over list for the car at the petrol station on the way home from collection, I think it would be a struggle to say no. Granted it’s not the same thing as fishing for a sale.

I’ll be honest I’ve been feeling the same way. I’ve had other cars to enjoy the summer with, but had trips and weddings to go to (just got back from an NC500 trip) which I had hoped was going to be in the Emira. The Ferrari is gorgeous though. I don’t think you will be disappointed!

I emailed Customer Care last week as I’d not heard from them since they told me I was due to expect the car in July (which was 01 Feb). I knew there were delays which is fine because I had been led astray by a red Type R that caught my eye, but the lack of comms has been fairly crap. I’ve now been told October now but I’ve only had that info because I asked for it. Disappointed that Lotus aren’t being proactive with the information. It’s getting annoying because I am weak and at this rate I will get something else. I am trying to be strong but my brother keeps sending me GT4s, Morgans, Vantages and it’s getting harder!

Saw an Evora this morning, potentially a GT430 (had the big wing) but didn’t get a great look. Anyway, looked amazing!

I think prices will hold in the short term similar to the GR Yaris which are still trading above list. They made 25,000 limited of course, but would it not take Lotus a few years to make up that total amount of both I4 and V6 models? Are there plans to continue the V6 for the life of the Emira? I recall reading about Lotus buying a bulk order of the V6 from Toyota and when it’s gone it’s gone. Probably complete shite though

I never look at cars as investments although some of them have gone up significantly in value, but I do look at cars that give me what I want balanced out by cost of ownership. I’m not going to buy an M4 that will lose half its value over the next 2 years.

Was it the Ice Grey leather? Or was there a cream option? I ordered Ice Grey so it’s a little disconcerting

I believe the video mentioned something about deposit holders receiving an email with more information on specific delivery dates. Has anyone had one yet? Presumably the first deliveries should be made within the next 2/3 weeks unless I have missed something?

I’m not sure if it made me unhappy today but it was was going so well, and then I logged onto TLF and saw the new partnership announcement for Lotus. What the hell is an NFT Pro, the XRP Ledger and how does a ripple tie it all together? I’m 26 man, I didn’t think I was supposed to feel old yet…

I take most of the reviews with a pinch of salt and only really put any stock into what Harry or Catchpole have to say when it comes to automotive journalists. Having watched Harry get carried away in the moment of driving the Emira, whilst listing the dislikes/downsides, tells me everything I need to know. Also feeling pretty good about ordering the Touring pack!

I don’t normally watch a lot of his content, but that was enjoyable. I’m rather glad I did, as I’ve had my eye on a yellow NA1 NSX the past week or so which would have meant pulling the Emira deposit.

Damn I’m jealous. That’s what I wanted to do but was too slow on GR Yaris deposit. Settled for an FK8 Type R, but those GR Yaris’s look so damn fun!

Is/will this be a road car? Or just for racing?

Whoever had it last also didn’t have it for long. It was on sale at B&C for a long time about 18 months ago, unless it never sold and went to Silverstone.

I’m guessing they made a mistake on my email. I was originally July but the month doesn’t seem to have changed. I’ll be happy if it’s delayed to September, as it makes me feel better about being on my way to pick up a Civic Type R right now! 😂

I was supposed to be in July, not had an email yet but I have preemptively emailed to ask if there is a knock on delay can I voluntarily delay until September. Partially for the new plate, but mostly because I’m not around for much of August.

Yes I believe so, but in this instance the early repayment charge only applied in the first 6 months of the agreement

Thanks for correcting me! It’s a tad misleading to call it Personal Contract Purchase if you aren’t actually the owner at any point throughout the contract though!

When my old man was buying his Lexus, one of the things the sales manager said was you could take out PCP get the £2k manufacturer discount and then after 6 months pay off the balance in full or overpay without penalties. I guess it would depend on the small print of the finance deal.
