  1. I couldn’t go the Silverstone event but my old man went in my place. One of the things I asked him to enquire about was the suspension options and which setup was more like the Evora 400 (a car I had set my sights on before the Emira was announced). He was told (by I think Gavin) that the touring is very close/similar to the Evora 400 setup and the sports suspension is closer to the 410 setup. I don’t know if this helps anyone in their decision making (it did for me, until I saw Harry’s video!)
  2. They have painted an Emira in a non launch colour?
  3. Argh. I was pretty set on the Yellow. The red looks a lot brighter than I initially thought, and the blue looks really good as well. Whilst the yellow looks quite underwhelming.
  4. 🧐 indeed, which is what is annoying me. I’ve driven an Evora 400 and thought the suspension setup was good. So I asked Lotus which setup was most similar to that, I just got a reply with the text copied from the configurator on each option. I’ve ended up going with the touring for now, but I hope more information will come before a real commitment is required
  5. I’m just mostly surprised at how boring the colours are. 3 that I would call boring old man Porsche colours, 1 okay dark red, and only 2 colours that actually pop on a car that is supposed to drag Lotus into a mainstream audience. Why they chose the only running model to be in the dullest colour possible I don’t know. I know colours and choices are very subjective and there will be people who don’t want to stand out, but your flagship launch car should be bright, bold and standout from the competition. Not merge into the background
  6. I’m in the predicament now, had my email today with the link for the configurator. I’ve pretty much decided on everything (apart from maybe Ice Grey vs Alcantara with yellow stitching), I just need to decide what box to tick on the suspension. My head is saying the touring is the best option, but it feels weird not ticking the sports option on a sports car.
  7. Yeah but people don’t always buy what is best for them. They buy what they think they want. Look at the GR Yaris, most of them are being daily driven and would want the convenience pack for the heated seats, satnav, softer suspension, parking sensors etc. but you will struggle to find a non circuit pack car, and you limit the market on resale because 90% of people think they want the circuit pack. The Emira will be a road trip car for me, so touring would make the most sense.
  8. Jeez you could get a brand new 911 Targa GTS for that in the UK! Or a standard 911 Carrera S and save £25k That’s completely bonkers
  9. My spec would be very similar, yellow with black pack, and the ice grey interior. Although I would probably go with black wheels. Still not sure on the sports vs touring. My head says touring is probably the way but I suspect most cars will be spec’d with the sports anyway.
  10. After a quick google, it looks as though it would be around 8k USD if you lived in California, which I believe is one of the more expensive states?
  11. Wish they would have done a green like one of these!
  12. Would assume that doesn’t include sales tax though? Which of course will vary from state to state
  13. That’s comforting to know actually. I just want a link to pay the 3k, I’m away at the moment so wouldn’t be able to take a call. Placed my deposit at Goodwood on the 8th
  14. I kinda see this more as a swan song as opposed to the future. Lotus is going electric, hell everyone is going electric. I see the Emira as the last time a normal person will be able to buy a brand new manual, sports car, and I want in on that before the opportunity is potentially lost forever. I’m also not convinced there will be an S version of the V6. I think they will do the GT4 and then the V6 will be gone and the AMG unit will get given the love until the Emira is discontinued.
  15. The base GTS is 10k lower, but that’s not a true price. Even just adding the multi-way seats increases the price by nearly £4K because you a interior leather pack aswell to get the same type of seat as in the Emira. The price on the Porsche website is also (to my knowledge) not the “on the road” price there are other fees that add up to about 2k. I think the FE Emira price is quite attractive, but with the same setup as (presumably the 400) it will come down if the creature comforts and aesthetic are worth the price increase.
  16. I was initially looking at the I4 when I placed my deposit, but have recently taken a promotion so I’m hopefully more leaning towards the V6 (price dependant of course). I got the same email stating it was for the V6 but I don’t remember being asked to specify which I was interested in my making the deposit.
  17. If it’s the static model (I.e the blue one) I take it that it will just be the car that was at Goodwood? I don’t feel quite so bad about not being around to attend the roadshow. I’m sure all the information given at the events will filter onto here anyway. I’m much the same, hopefully the decision might be easier (or made for me!) when the prices are released in the coming weeks.

    second thoughts?

Well I care… as unfortunately I won’t be available to drive one myself.

    second thoughts?

I’m mostly waiting for the cars to be given to reviewers (Can’t wait to see Harry’s Garage). I won’t be in the country for the roadshow, so it will be the best source of info for me.
  20. Id probably keep my RX7 as it’s a childhood dream car for me. The MR2 slot is being replaced by the V6 Emira, so that and the RX7 (and the little MX5) would be the garage. However I have been growing quite fond of the Elise and the GR Yaris. So (sticking with the £100k budget) I’d probably have an Elise 250 cup or 240 Sport, with a GR Yaris and the Emira! If it had to be limited to just 2 cars, then it’s a tough one. I don’t need practicality so probably an AMG Emira (as a daily) with something like this (Exige Final Edition) https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/11637078 Either that, or the V6 Emira with a GR Yaris
  21. Any delay just means I will have more time to save and therefore more likely to talk myself into the V6!
  22. I actually quite like the ice grey leather. But would have to see it in person.
  23. It’s tough, I love the red and blue but I already have cars in those colours, so Yellow is the current option with black pack, but if I could get a toxic green or a purple / midnight purple then I would probably wait.
  24. I considered it and took one for a test drive, it drove well and felt fast but not super engaging, but it was the first car I went to look at after the Alpine fell through. So it felt very heavy in comparison (as most cars would). I think it was mostly the dealer experience that put me off.
