  1. Have you had the wheels repainted in BMW style "shadow-chrome"? thinking of same for my 400.
  2. Guilty Was my old nightfall blue S-SR, wrong place, wrong time. Driving home one evening crossing a complex traffic light junction and young lad coming towards me turned right (he wrongly thought he had a filter). He was so close when he turned that I only clipped his offside front corner but I was doing about 35-40. First I knew of it was sitting in the verge with airbags all gone off and a lot of smoke; not something I want to repeat. Felt sorry for the lad, just made a silly mistake with devestating consequences, fortunately nobody seriously injured, he admitted full liability. Had a hell of a battle with the insurer (the one with the dog!), gave no recognition of the fact it was an SR and paid low S value, I took it to the obbudsman who ruled in favour of the insurer, appealed it and won. Even so, I reckon I was still around £1,500 short but up until then it looked like I was going to be down £7k. Now have gap insurance on the 400, will go agreed value when I can. Gutted to have lost one on my watch, was a beautiful car... and a really nice seat!
  3. MOT Checker shows silver one is a NI car, I think it may have been serviced a bit late. Personally, I prefer that colour/interior/wheel combi to the other two but that's subjective, I don't thin teh above would put me off but I'd want it a bit cheaper than they're asking. £45k one looks excellent value, red interior seems to be a bit Marmite, though. £52k nice but looks pricey, obviously that reflects the v.low mileage but that's main dealer money. Amazes me how much difference it makes to price, whether it's done 3k miles per year or, as that one, less than 1k it's still pretty low mileage.
  4. Sub £40k 400: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202403097402147 I love those option ten spoke alloys.
  5. Due a service and could do with a wheel refurb, £26-7k? Similar mileage manual S 2+2 with leather on PH for £31k
  6. Interesting, "475GT Sport" https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202401275965606 Love the colour. "Kromotec" ? 🙄 Big money though.
  7. That might have cured me, I've been lusting after a C8 for a while but with a 0-60mph of 3.9s rather than the claimed 2.8s it doesn't seem quite so special.
  8. Agree, they should be good for twice that, had it been my car at the time, I'd have just ignored the MOT advisery. Problem comes when you're selling, MOT advisery's there for all to see and any buyer is going to be put off unless it's been done or priced accordingly. Evora N/A or S has solid discs ~£150/pair, 400 onwards have 2-piece; can't say I've noticed the difference.
  9. Don't know the cars but the black one looks very good value. I've commented before but the rear tyres look near the wear markers from the photos, @ ~£300 per corner for rears, it's worth checking. Also, mine had a MOT advisory for pitted discs coming up to 30k OTC, they were replaced before I got the car but you're looking at near to £3k for discs + pads all round, plus labour, and that's specialist parts supplier prices. The black one does look as though it's still on original discs. Even so, if you walked away with it for ~£49k with new discs, pads and tyres all round it wouldn't be too bad.
  10. Good luck if you are fussy about colour, I was desperate for yellow one both my searches (S then 400), probably spent a year looking overall and not one came up. I ended up with a black 400, far from my first colour choice but it ticked all the ther boxes. It's not that I dislike black cars, they look amazing when clean but they show the dirt so badly. Of the current ones on the market, I do like the look of the Silver one https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/16011392, love the wheels and the fact it doesn't have black pack but MOT checker suggest an NI import and I think when it was first advertised it showed a gap in the service history (unless I've confused it with another). That wouldn't completely put me off but not convinced the price reflects those issues. Love the Hilton Moss one for the same reasons but was beyond my budget @£57.5k, they've had that car at that price for months, though, might be prepared to do a deal. Red interior on this one https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202401185681246 would probably be a no for me but, were I still looking, I might be prepared to overlook it. Autostrada one looks excellent value @£44.5k and 33k OTC is hardly starship. As I'm writing this, just had an email alert for a new ad on Ebay, yellow GT410 Sport: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/235403426396 ...now, other than being ~£10k short of funds, that ticks all my boxes, somebody give it a good home please 😭
  11. Best colour combo! Looks like not much life left in the tyres, from the photo but difficult to be certain. Certainly looks good value.
  12. First sub £45k 400 (other than those with Cat marker)? https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202401085359159 Due a service and above average mileage but only two owners, seems teriffic value. Not so sure about this one, missing some service history and MOT history suggests NI car but low mileage, looks nice. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202312204947551 ...Nope, Junction 17 have dropped the IPS that @Jovver was looking at to £44,995 https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/15287549
  13. That does sound pretty shoddy, I wonder if, once they realised the battery was flat, they were unable to open the boot? Sounds like the battery will be junk anyway. I confess to buying mine without even seeing it! It was 240 miles away and there was no way I could get to see it for at least a week, by which time I suspect it would have gone. National dealer, offerred a limited time/mileage full refund guarantee so I took a chance. I didn't pay the extra £100 for them to trailer it to me on the assumption that if any issues were present, they'd manifest themsleves en route. First time I've ever bought unseen, wasn't particularly keen on doing so but they are so scarce that, invariably, the ones I fancied always turned up at the other end of the country.
  14. TBH I haven't noticed any difference, both ride superbly although I've only had the 400 since early Oct, and had a six month gap between. Not had an opportunity to take the 400 on a decent drive on dry roads yet.
  15. Don't know it at all, but I can tell you jn17 have had it for sale since early July @ £50,495 and have regulaly dropped the price since, suspect that's more a case of being realistic about the market that anything to do with the car. Don't think you'll regret the switch, I went from an S to a 400, never felt the S needed improving but IMHO 400 is significantly better. Engine note and ease of entry/exit the big wins; some downers though, speedo almost illegible and start button pointless.
  16. Is it just me that sees an awful lot of Evora in this: Toyota FT-Se https://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-japanesecars/toyota-ft-se-officially-unveiled-at-tokyo-show/47788
  17. Finally found myself a 400, if anyone interested/looking or thinking of selling, these are the 400s I followed whilst searching. I was looking sub £50k so no low mileage garage queens. Was sorely tempted by the Red manual first advertised in April but Mrs Mellow was dead against Red and I wasn't keen. Was on the market until very recently, shows how difficult it is to sell privately at this price point; not many punters with even £30k prepared to buy private unless you seriously undercut the trade. White IPS at Jn17 now looking like a bargain. Gutted to miss out on the NF Blue 2018 car but came up when I was overseas. Moved too slowly on the orange one, didn't think the vendor would drop enough for me but when I called it'd just been sold for what I was prepared to pay. Impressed with the 400. Never felt the S really needed impoving but 400 is better in many ways. As for the looks vs S, I think I prefer the 400 slightly but I think the front end on GTE and GT muh better than either.
  18. 2022 400?? https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202309222268567 Says registered 1/4/2022, no explanation why.
  19. Odd, auction closed at £48,500 "reserve almost met", you can still see it in the bids. Good money for an SR-S, albeit a beauty.
  20. I think the 😉 suggests @JimH already knows. Yep, done the SR thing want those extra 50 ponies.
