  1. Very nice! The rear view looks more aggressive than the real car, can’t see why though
  2. It is! Very simplify and add lightness too!

  4. In an effort to try and tidy up on a a few cosmetic niggles on my sports racer I have started on a mission to fix these as summer approaches The rear “lotus” was chrome which was not original so I changed those to black. Bought original lotus letters, wasn’t expecting them to just be the chrome ones struck on masking tape and sprayed black. This then meant some careful application of 3m VHB tape as the original was no longer any use (bit of a scam when you pay £60ish) Next was the nose badge, it had lacquer peel and some missing paint. A failed decal over the top only made this worse and a new badge is over £100 which seemed excessive. I spotted emira wheel centres on eBay at £25 so I thought it was worth a punt. Chop off the rear tabs and file flat. Filled in the rear with resin and then more vhb tape to hold it back in place. Pleased with the look, slightly larger diameter so fits the recess a little tighter. Would like to add a smaller front plate but the plinth is quite large, has anyone tried to address this?
  5. Fun drive down the coast in the rare sunshine.
  6. Had a good reaction today. I live just along from a football pitch where various groups of kids train and play games all through the week. 2 boys around 10/11 at a guess rang the door bell just to tell me I had a “cool car!” If I hadn’t have been so busy i’d have let them have a sit in
  7. Drove yesterday for 100 miles and not the slightest of noises! its not brakes pads as its too loud a spring noise instead of a rattle I did have a good check around the ball joint with a pry bar and couldnt feel any movement, again my understanding is the ball joint would be more of a rattle. The noise is the odd one off twang. More investigation needed!
  8. I hate any squeek, rattle or clunk that a car makes that it shouldn’t. I’m on a mission to find this noise The sound comes from the front drivers suspension I’m pretty sure. When driving it occasionally happens on hitting a dip or bump. It has a kind of metallic “twang” almost like a spring moving or a spring not seated properly. Nothing can be felt through the steering wheel but you can almost feel it through your feet on the floor Before purchasing the car it was in Hangar 111 where it had new arb bushes (standard) and new droplinks. I thought it would be worth sticking some polybush bushes in, no difference! Having a look at service notes there is mention of the rubber spring seat, has anyone had any issues with these before? Any ideas of where to look, had the wheels off to look a few times but I haven’t been able to find anything. Bonus picture After 6 years working I only just found out we have an underground carpark, very small carpark but makes the exhaust sound amazing
  9. Gavin, did you apply sealant on the cabin side or outside of the bulkhead? It looks like with the lower undertray off you can get to the seal.
  10. Finally got the carport all built and finished to keep the evora noce and dry when possible. When I first got the car it was leaking by tracking along the door seals and then overflowing down the sills. The seal always had a puddle on it after raining. This is now fixed with repositioning of seals. I was convinced this had sorted the leaks until using the car for a couple of days in heavy rain. Now the drivers carpet is like a sponge, you can squeeze the water out of it. The water has very fine grit in it which makes me think it could be from spray from the wheels. With a lot of poking around and head under the dash I am pretty sure its getting in around the steering column as it is wet under this point to the floors. Any ideas on sealing? Would Silicone do it?
  11. Looking for some advice. I think I possibly have an issue with my brake pedal sensor. Happened twice now when driving iv noticed the car has dropped out of sport mode and the tcs and abs light are on. Pulling over and restarting the car clears this. Probably needs plugged in to a reader but my understanding is this is possibly a Lotus dealer job?
  12. I had noticed you were localish too! The same also works in your favour too😆
  13. Hi all Looking for some advice or to see if anyone else has done similar. My interior A pillars are suede and were originally dark grey but I assume due to sun damage are now a fetching shade of blue or green. These dont look the easiest pieces to remove without the dash out! Has anyone tried using a fabric dye on them to get them back to grey? Poor picture but shows the issue
