  1. I saw the B is for Build vid on the referb, but not the install removal, ill have a search.
  2. I'm looking to get some of the centre badges made as these are the bits that corrode due to moisture getting under the lacquer. I'm going to get prices for chrome backed stickers, if anyone is interested, otherwise it's nearly £20 a corner.
  3. Afternoon all. Im going to refurb my flaking headlights, but to do the job properly I want to take them off the car. Can someone point me in the direction of a guide to removing them please, or post some instructions. Car is an 09 Launch edition.
  4. Another one to add to the list of peeling lights. We set off for but did not reach Brands on Saturday, and on the way home drove through torrential rain. Sunday morning while cleaning the car noticed that the laquer was peeling off the LH light. just sent email to B&C to see if its covered by the warranty.
  5. When we were in Le Mans we only saw one other Evora, a silver 400 at the Classic British Welcome, but now I see pictures popping up all over the net of Evora's at Le Mans, where was everybody?
  6. Long range weather looks good sunny, partly cloudy, 25 degrees. Weather for the 24hrs wasnt too bad for the main race, but the drive back was a nightmare, as the guy in the 911 found out north of Rouen when he lost control and bounced off the central reservation
  7. Bit of a long shot, but one of our party has dropped out, and so I have a spare ticket for the Classic with Paddock pass which is extra. If anyone is interested PM me. This is just for the General entrance ticket and paddock pass, no accomodation or ferry. Ade
  8. Isnt it always the case before a long trip, issue crop up. I pulled on the handbrake on my GT3, quite hard, and now its gone slack to the extent that it wont grip, when off the black bar between the handbrake and the adjusters in the sill goes very loose hitting the floor. As it was ok before I gave it the hard yank before I start playing with the adjusters, is there anything else I should check, such as the self adjusters in the calipers, which are Brembo ones. Any help advice would be appreciated.
  9. Pity I didnt read that in 2009, when i fitted the PU impeller, still you live and learn. Like Dylan in the 60's im going electric, hopefully without the same public outcry.
  10. Now this is a classic locked room mystery. For a little while I had noticed some weeping from the chargecooler pump, which I assumed to be one of the hoses breaking down. I took out the retaining bolt and started to pull out the pump, but surprisingly the drive shaft stayed in the engine as I pulled back the pump, Mmm me thinks this don't look good. When I finally got the pump out and took it apart I was most surprised to see the Poly impeller I fitted a few years ago was gone!!! not broken down as, apart from the brass bush it had completely vanished, see picture below. I can only assume it has dissolved, but what would make this happen? Also can anyone tel me how the shaft is supposed to be secured into the pump body, or should it be able to slide out?
  11. The only matching set I could get for my Nova's was either Continental Conti Sport, or Eagle F1's, in the end went for the Goodyears. Can you get a full set of Pirelli's?
  12. When I was refitting my Turbo, I broke the thin black plastic vac hose, then looked at the dreaded elbow which was also cracked so replaced both with silicone vac hose straight from the manifold to the MAP sensor. That was 3 years ago and no issues. Its also worth pointing out that the GT3 differs to other Esprits slightly, in that there is no throttle Jack. If anyone is still haveing issues with vac hoses on a GT3, let me know and I will take some pictures of mine, which also has a dump valve fitted.
  13. if you go again Bibs, you need one of these
  14. Im going, 18th visit for me, but fist time taking the other half, and the Evora. We are staying at a Chateau about 20mins from the circuit, so a bit of comfort. For first timers I have a couple of suggestions, Classic British Welcome on Friday morning at St Saturnin, best free car show you will ever go to, and a visit to Hotel de France is a must especially on Friday afternoon or evening, if you turn up in something nice you will be welcomed with open arms, and the history behind this place is fantastic. Then is the Classic in July with the GT3, what a lucky boy I am.
  15. Where abouts are you in Worcestershire Barry? We are in Kidderminster.
  16. No haven't won the Lottery Mark, but haven't got kids, so that's pretty much the same thing. I still love the Esprit, but yes ride, handling, and power as you say in another league. The Evora is so easy to drive, Gina loves it, but she's not a fan of driving the Esprit, me I love both.
  17. Gina takes the Evora to work, well after all it is her every day car. Reactions have been from "have you won the lottery" to one guy having it as the screen saver on his phone. One lady said to Gina "It's lovely, I had a ride in an Esprit once" to which Gina replied "we've got on of those too" Im told her face was priceless. I went to Sainsbugs in it the other night, as I parked a shiney red new Focus ST pulled up next to me, and a drop dead gorgeous lady got out of the passenger side, cam over to me and said "I had to come and say what a beautiful car" I looked in the Focus and Im sure I saw steam coming out of her other half's ears.
  18. Blimey, just realised we have had our Evora nearly a month and not shown it off yet. Its a 2009 Launch edition, so all the toys, and forged wheels. Here it is on its own and with out Esprit GT3, both great cars, both special in their own special way
