I run the Hi-Spec 4pots with Hawk pads - no rattle here - unless the wheel is not seated on the hub before tightening down... ;0
-
mine did too - here are some pics of the springs buckling over time - > http://www.thelotusforums.com/forums/index.php/topic/37042-ride-height/page__p__323368__hl__%2Badjustable+%2Bsuspension__fromsearch__1#entry323368
and here is the two springs side by side - one an inch shorter....

they are DOT certified but with a wear rating of 30... you ain't going far...
-
how did you do it? was it as simple as setting the gears into TDC, pulling and re-installing?
-
very nice!
You changed up from the orange ones - were they damaged beyong repair in the blow out?
-
-
I used a rubber strap wrench around the pulley - to hold it still while I cracked the nut.

+1
the issue for aftermarket kits is that they usually tuck in behind the fender - in the hollow space between the body and fender (where the average car has the stock door hinge). The Esprit does not have this area - the end of the door frame is sealed flush - so no room to tuck the aftermarket scissor hinge.

hey - no wings jokes....
-
I see it had plates on it now.... they brought it to car&coffee on the 26th but the dealer still owned it...

brave job Jon!!!!
Can you post some more pics of the hood and what you did with the breathing through the front into the bonnet?
-
John - sorry I missed this - that was me sneaking home. Great to visit with you today - your Esprit is mint!!!
-
I left the bottom open to allow a little air circulation
looking at those other pics - I did repaint those valve covers!
-
from your other posts - it look like you are looking for manifold shields not turbo sheild. The V8 has sheild to protect the manifolds from water splash and the engine bay from heat. My SE only had the one shield in the driver side rear wheel well that acts as a splash guard.
I build a turbo shield to keep the heat away form the engine bay - pics:

John attached is one of the flyers.
I get the invite from the Hill Country Exotics and another from Spokes.org (local SCCA) - also there has been talk about Tavo Hellmund's people expressing some interest in getting involved....

very nice - I need make a point of attending!

great info - thank you!.
I ordered from GAZ directly -
GAZ Gold Professional Adjustable Coil-overs
- GG8-2146 (front)
- GG8-2154 (rear)
- 9" x 275lbs x 2.25" (front)
- 9" x 375lbs x 2.25" (rear)
May be a little high on the rear spring rate but trying to hold up under the APR wing.

got my new GAZ adjustables installed....
Anyone have experience with ride height? currently I'm set at 5.5" from top of the rim to the bottom of the wheel well lip...
some pics:
pretty kit
the old springs were bowed....

depends where you live - here are the national US standards - > http://www.nhtsa.gov/Safety/CPS
If they are either less than 4yrs old, or less than 40lbs - then they cannot be in a booster seat, or any seat that uses only straight car seat belt. You cannot use the seats designed for less than 40lbs in a car without a latch teather - which has to be OEM and crash tested (not a DIYer) - so it's my understanding, no young kids in the front seats.

I was able to swap the clutch, pressure plate and release bearing without disconnecting the driveshafts - just moving the gearbox as far back as possible.
-
I don't have experience with the older models, but one thing to check - is your AC on? if it is, the car revs up to 1200rpm on purpose - or at least it does on my 89...
