Hi Robert So sorry to miss the run, was looking forward to washing the car and relaxing for the weekend for a change. The car has been noisy for a while but on the drive up on Friday it got worse. Cruised home the rest of the way. Took the cam covers off and the bearings of one of the idler pulleys had lost the ball bearings and was running on the metal. No damage luckily to the castings. Cam belt looks a bit worse for wear too. Time to change them both anyway. I have borrowed the old mans Rover Tourer to get back down tonight. It will be a slow trip I think. Tony

I am going to have to back out. The bearings on one of my cam belt idler pulleys has totally disintigrated. Luckily no damage to the valves and pistons. I will see you on the next run. Tony

It was nice to see you too, your car looked the part. You obviously didnt notice the missing Quiksilver tailpipe then. I had been thinking of going to Supercar Sunday, like you said I passed by. I don't put my name down for things cause I never know if I have time. I live in Stockport and work in Crawley and commute weekly. With only two days at home it gets a bit hectic squeezing the jobs in. Usually I travel down on Sunday evenings. This weekend the wife was away so Saturday saw me busy replacing a driveshaft oil seal. that took longer than expected getting the bolts loose on the suspension. Sunday I needed to collect some parts from Chris Neils so I set off south early. I had said to Robert Crooks I need to get involved more. Tony

Bibs Left Crawley at about 5:15 and got home at 9:45. Once on the M40 kept up a good speed but it was probably 7 before I got to the M40. Not the worst. Came down last night took all of 3 hours 30 minutes. Afterwards, I thought I should have tucked in behind you, your lane moved a lot quicker. I know where to go this Friday. Tony

Hi Pedro I am new to the joys of Esprit ownership too, also got mine in September a '99 V8 SE. Luckily I ahve not had the problems you have had. My son says he has seen a blue Esprit heading up Sandy Lane and had comments from attendant in the petrol station about how common Esprits are. I live in Marple Bridge. I have another Lotus, an M100 Elan SE, which I wrote off up near us on Glossop Road back in March. Have almost finished rebuilding it and should be back on the road probably when the weather gets better after the Winter. Would have liked to have gone NMEG run at weekend but I work away down at Crawley during the week and was at a NORLOG meeting last Sunday, her in doors has said I am never at home.
