  1. Did any of you notice any difference to the sound?
  2. Why don't you make your own? I cut these out using a cardboard template then had a local trimmer do the edges. The badges are ebay specials.
  3. Here's another useless tip. If you have an odd shape to cut out you can use a hacksaw instead of cutting a tile into a few pieces.
  4. Go for it Chris. I was going to get a carb turbo before i got mine and i'm really glad i got the SE. The only thing i would like would be power steering so see if you can get something a little later than an SE.
  5. I'm getting a new exhaust soon and just wondered while i'm under there is it worth taking the cat pipe off and gutting it? I've done this before on other cars and i haven't really noticed any difference but all cars are different. Is it worth smashing out the middle?(can't stretch to a bypass pipe atm) How are people getting on at the MOT? Mine is a 1990 SE so it should be exempt from a cat test.
  6. I posted on here a little while ago about these. I got mine from ebay from this guy. It looks like he doesn't have any atm but it might be worth an email, his were the only ones i could find anywhere and it fits perfectly.
  7. My solution in the end was to get a new (reconditioned) ecu. I got it from Canada from a very helpful member on here. There was one on ebay a few days ago, might be worth a try. I didn't price up anything aftermarket as they would have cost way more and it would also have needed to be setup afterwards. If i was you i would just stick with the standard GM/delco one, if you want more power it's quite easy to solder a new memcal chip in. I've got the number 3 high torque chip in mine and it has made quite a big difference.
  8. Mine failed last year, the rad fan part went wrong.
  9. Looks like i can't make it stupid family, why do they always have to get in the way of my fun
  10. If we are talking about a charge cooled 4 pot Esprit the one at the front near the thermostat is for the gauge only. The other one is under the plenum and goes to the ecu. The ecu controls the rad fans.
  11. I'm up for it if i can get the time of work.
  12. I wish you all the luck in the world Chris, even with vinyl it's not that easy. I didn't reaslise you couuld get it from b&q, this stuff is off the internet.
  13. Got a bit more done today, what do you think? I've also done the ashtrays which look loads better now they are bare metal. As it took so long to do i ran out of time and haven't fitted it back in yet, i'll get some pics up when it's in. It looks a bit tin foily in the pictures but it's omly because of the flash, it looks alot better close up. From this To this To this
  14. Chris give the bloke who recoloured my leather a call. He also does wood veneering and i doubt you will find much better. His name is Phil Read and his number is 01268 584068, you usually have to leave a message though.
  15. Thats not an SE at all. The interior is all wrong along with the bumpers, sills, wood dash, ice warning, mirrors. How to spot an SE
  16. Thanks for the link to the pics Paul. It looks totally different and alot better than i imagined.
  17. I could be wrong but they look very similar to a mk2 fiesta washer bottle.
  18. Are there stands there selling parts then? i still haven't a clue what type of event it is.
  19. Looks like i may be able to make it on the Sunday only but what actually is going on there? Whats all this about aswell?
  20. WOW Felix (fsrowsell) your car is geogeous! Really wish i had a highwing on mine. Here's mine on the right.
  21. Looks very 'outrun'. I remember a different one on the Amstrad cpc 464 (big long keyboard with a tape player on the end) that i think was called Esprit turbo challenge. It was a bit like the very first grand theft auto where you could run people over and drive all over the streets instead of a racetrack.
  22. I've got a Silverline rotary. I haven't used it much yet but i did do the bonnet of the Esprit and it came up very well. You really need to get a paint thickness gauge as without one you won't know how much correcting you can do. Have a look on detailing world, there are some excellent guides on there.
  23. Mine passed the mot yesterday too so i'm all set. See you in the morning guys.
