  1. I agree, on my cross country blast to work 300hp in an NA seems like enough (especially now I have fitted a decent exhaust system). C43
  2. all satin blacks are equal, its just some are more equal than others....
  3. same question for my brothers S2 World Champion Esprit. I am guessing satin black but any feedback welcome. ta C43
  4. Talk to Simon at Brooke Kensington and get your car and guitar done at the same time. I have used them for years for lots of Lotii and he makes a mean guitar.. C43
  5. Hi Alan

we were debating taking the World Champion Esprit to the classic but we have to now..

one question is do we have to be a member of club lotus to join the parade, neither me nor my brother are.

    cheers

      Hello Christian

Yes, you do have to be a member otherwise you can't park in the infield or join the parade. Plus you get discounted tickets, currently £59 for two occupants.

Club Lotus is £35 a year which is worth it for the magazine alone I think!

      Cheers

  7. C43 - if weather good (or at least not raining) will be coming in convoy, 2 off S2 Esprits. If wet will bring Evora.
  8. thanks for the warning. I guess if needs be I can bond the bushes in place if they just need a bit of glue shimming. I can get some industrial bonding agent should do it. C43

Love it. Exige type performance but with some comfort and civility. Want one! C43
  10. Whilst I am doing the linkage my joke mechanism at the stick end has loads of play in it, does anyone have any experience on how to rebuild this? thanks Christian
  11. Hi Andy as you said very easy to take off. Now to get new bushes and put back together. However the bushes I took off were very worn so new should make a big difference. Going to fit the IGUS Teflon bushes. cheers C43
  12. Andy just saw your comment about easy to do with the engine in place, good to hear. thanks C43
  13. thanks for the feedback guys. I saw what you had put on your previous threads and all great stuff. I work for a race team so have good access to bearings and rose joints so should not be a problem to fit new parts. I was worried it might be difficult to get to on the car (a Lotus is much more difficult to work on than most race cars!) but seems like pretty easy once the car is in the air. Think I will put in on ramps then the rear is as high as I can get it so hopefully can access all the bearings and levers form underneath. Think most are pretty easy, it was just the one in the middle mounted to the back of the chassis that worried me. cheers C43
  14. Cheers. makes sense from what I have read so far. Car has done 80k at least and the gear change is bad even by Esprit standards. I have access to a full machine shop so can re bush where necessary. I am a little nervous about how easy or not the in gear rod linkage running down the lhs and into the back of the chassis will be to remove from underneath as I am sure all the rubber bushes on this will be badly worn. The picture below shows the rocker I have to remove, easy to do with no engine in place....not so easy with an engine fitted on the garage floor I think! C43
  15. I think from underneath I can get to most of it both sides of the gearbox. Its just how I get to the rods and cables as the go round the front of the engine and along the top of the chassis. For sure taking the centre console off and accessing the stick mechanism is easy. C43
  16. Hi I am working on my brothers S2 esprit and the gearchange is pretty horrible. Think I will have to replace all the bushes and put a new crossgate cable in. My question is how easy to do with body on and engine in when the car is on high stands in the garage? If easy is changing front brakes and difficult is refitting dash without breaking it and so that everything still works! cheers C43
  17. great road test. Tell the truth I was totally happy with my NA but having seen this I am having serious thoughts.... C43
  18. Hi Andy I have fitted the 2bular switched back box and love it but would like to get a "little" more power out of the NA. The headers seem the next step but any idea how much they would cost to fit? I did the tailpipe myself but don't fancy fighting the headers in my limited garage space... Agreed fighting the 400 itch is the other problem, and that's before you consider the new V6 Exige, now that looks proper lovely, the new interior and gear change alone make it worth while.... C43
  19. HI I am going down the same route as I also just bought some new seats with heating elements in them... I was told that the 2010 cars and earlier do not have the wiring to connect the switch to the ECU so you can turn momentary to latching switch. However there are plenty of sites on the net selling boxes to convert momentary to latching switch so all is not lost. I have bought the original switches to fit and am buzzing it out to try and work out what is connected to what, bit of an epic job but getting there.. Unfortunately my brother has bought an Esprit that I am working on so heated seats are taking a bit of a back....seat! C43
  20. Funny thing was it was a nut I had already undone about 12 months earlier and I had used copperslip when putting it back together. Moral of the story is lots of WD40 / heat gun and time on anything that's really tight. I have used this technique on my brothers Esprit and so far so good. cheers C43
  21. Time depends on many nuts shear off or can't be moved. I had one stud fail when I did the rear section and it turned into an epic... C43
  22. thanks guys. I though the Evora was OBD3 and hence the OBD2 readers you find on the internet would not work. I'll get a cheap one and give it a go. cheers Christian
  23. Hi can anyone recommend an OBD reader for the Evora NA that will both read and clear faults? ta C43
