  1. Hi Jacques, thx info, I have the R&B kit. In the proces off installing (among a lot of other jobs). Would also prefer a bit longer hose. As for the return fuel hose I will have a local shop fit a new hose (Gates) onto the old fittings. Cheers, Freek
  2. Hi Jacques, It looks like you have the R&B fuel hose kit fitted. Any special tricks / tips etc for fitting or was it just a matter of removal of the old hoses and in with the new? (of course new o-rings) Freek
  3. Ramspott & Brandt list one in their webshop
  4. problem with lifting the complete undertray with the radiator / condensor into position? Use 4 threaded rods with some washers and nuts.
  5. The drawing shows the U/J 's when there is a 0 deg offset. From this initial position you can than set the offset between the U/J's. After that centralize the rack (or check) and reposition the steering wheel.
  6. All from memory so could be wrong i'm not near my manual. Did it a long time ago. 1 - centralise rack 2 - align U/J's as per drawing but do not connect upper and lower U/J 3 - apply offset (from memory 30 deg, ie 3 splines) between the two U/J direction depends on LHD or RHD (see manual) keep rack centralised 4 - connect upper and lower U/J 5 - remove steering wheel with hub and reposition the steering wheel in straight ahead position
  7. The threaded rods were only used as a mounting tool just to lift the complete assembly. I used the normal mounting holes for that. Material is only removed on the flimsy side of the tray. As for the support of the tray by the oilcooles I don't know out of my head. But 2 more bolts, nuts etc should solve that problem. Freek
  8. I made a small modification (cut out small section on both sides) to the undertray so if i have the remove it again i don't have to remove / undo the the oilcoolers.
  9. I fitted my new drainpipes (black hats) from below with some reinforcement rings and some sikaflex 291 kit.
  10. Hi Cam, any special plans etc with the dead ECU pcb? I'm interested in it if you want to bin it.
  11. Forgot to mention but i used countersunk allen bolts and self locking nuts (all stainless) for mounting the fan supports on the shroud. Clearance between fan blades and the brackets is small. These were far more easily to buy than the countersunk poprivets. (also makes removing them if needed much more easy)
  12. hi Jacques, repairs made with glassfibre cloth and epoxy on the shroud, won't stick to the shroud. So after drying removed them, trimmed them and glued them in place again with special glue. Also did a mod on the undertray so next time it won't be neccessary to remove the oil coolers. Used 4 threaded rods with nuts and washers for mounting the tray on the car again. see the pics. Freek
  13. THX for the tip Atwell will look into this. If somebody could give me to dimension of the outside diameter of the pulley I would be gratefull.
  14. Travis is right, I meant the AL49X
  15. i'm looking for the dimensions of the alternator pulley anybody know them? I have a totally wrong alternator (MB 55Amp) in my car. Also i would like to know a part number for the alternator, I know alx48 bosch but I can not get this overhere. Any suggestions?? Or if someone has one (broken) for sale i'm interested in it. Thx in advance Freek
  16. Anybody know the dimensions of the rubber mountings for the chargecooler, because i'm not sure if i have the originals fitted and need to replace them. Many thanks
  17. Anybody know the dimensions of the o-rings that are used on the fuel lines of a 1990 SE?
  18. The connector with the black and the (light) green wires is for the powerwash pump (cleaning headlights) if that system is fitted, otherwise it is unused.
  19. Probably a loose connection on the solenoid (thay are mounted on the wheel arcs / wells on each side). Had it also once and one of the nuts was loose, tightened it and all was working again. Be prepared for some distored limbs and working on the feel.
  20. My fuel hoses need replacing. They can be remade by crimping new hoses to the old fittings. The newer hoses (gates braided fuel hose) are thicker than the original ones. Anybody did the same? Any (dis)advantages? Will also have to renew the o-rings so I'm looking for the dimensions of those o-rings. Freek
  21. or option e) resolder the old components (remove old solder, clean and solder again)
