  1. I've found the AiM MXS to be a great replacement for the stock instrument cluster in the V6. I like having the additional info/data displayed in real time on the dash; and, perhaps more importantly, you can actually see the info, alarms, etc. with ease while on track. As result, I just updated my 2-Eleven's old MXL dash (been in the car for almost 10 years) to the latest version MXS1.2 -- love that you can create many different pages displaying different info and scroll through your library of pages to select the desired one with a push of a button. Old vs New.....

  3. AFRs in the 11's -12's are definitely safe....I would also recommend running higher octane fuel especially when on track and/or during HOT weather. RWHP and TQ numbers are what count, IMHO.

  6. Bigger is always better except when it's not. I have no problem seeing my MXS dash and I'm OLD! On the other hand, I do have a problem taking a good pic with my cell phone

  8. Matthew, don't know much about the ECU Master dash, but I'm sure its up to the task. I'd go with your shop's recommendation. The only possible distinction, if it matters to you since you have a street car, is that AiM sells a version of their dash with appropriate icons for street cars.
  9. Matthew, do the dash as soon as you are able. Being able to view engine data/parameters live is important, and especially having "alarms" that will catch you eye quickly if there is a major issue. The stock dash is virtually unreadable for me when on track and provides inadequate info.   10. Matthew, Oil temp easy, as the Moroso pan as a bung waiting for a temp sensor. You don't get oil pressure at the Moroso pan. I get oil pressure at my sandwich plate, or I would imagine you can get oil pressure from the appropriate spot off the engine. Gearbox temp would be good.....gearbox pressure> I don't get why you'd want/need that?? Logging lambda/A/F readings can prove helpful in diagnosing engine issues. I also log manifold pressure/boost and post-blower air intake temps. DATA can be your friend. I'm sure your shop doing the ECU/engine work can set you up.
  11. Small one.... allen head plug with O-ring gasket.....should be a magnetic plug. if not, you can purchase one from Moroso. The three at the bottom will provide your shop access to the studs/nuts used to attach the pan to the engine block. The big black plugs can be used for oil return lines, eg, turbo oil return line, etc.

  14. Mark, There's only 1 drain plug .... and .... HINT: it is neither one of the two plugs shown in picture #1.
  15. Interesting read about changing ECUs. My local race shop/Lotus specialist has been encouraging me to do the same....they want me to go with MoTeC. Tuning the engine would be ta snap and, as mentioned above, the MAF is out and MAP is in. My only issue is that I don't want to be THE "science project" and have my car laid up while they work on getting the MoTeC to control the X-trac functions. They say no problem, but since they haven't done it, I have my concerns. I know there are V6CupR's with the X-trac running after-market ECU's in Europe but I'm still reluctant to be the guinea pig, as everything works great now. A bit more power would always be welcome -- the tranny can definitely handle more torque.
  16. I couldn't wait -- had it done a few weeks ago. Looks to be a good improvement even if you already have the factory baffled pan with "rubber" trap doors Based upon data download, minimum oil pressure on high G right turn corners is up by ~10psi with Moroso sump as compared to the stock steel baffled pan that came on the CupR. Same corner, same oil and water temps, same G-load, same RPMs -- better oil pressure with Moroso. 👍
  17. Hasn't proven to be for me over the last 9 years of tracking and racing the 2-Eleven with that setup.
  18. Matthew, It looks to be good. The only issue for a street car with this type of setup is that some oil vapor/odor will be present in the engine bay; and as SSC states --- With crankcase gasses breathing to atmosphere, some oil may condense at the top filter and run down the side of the can.
  19. For a street car that needs to pass Governmental emission testing, a catch can setup that is not vented to the atmosphere would be advisable. Most, but not all, vapors will be captured. For a dedicated track car, a catch can vented to the atmosphere is the way to go. We added that setup with a drain back to the sump in my 2-Eleven. The factory installed Mocal catch can in the CupR does not drain back to the original oil pan. But, now that I have installed the Moroso sump with "bungs" available for a hose attachment, that may be the next project. 2-Eleven catch can .....

  22. Added 3-D printed scoops to my already "fettled" intercooler air hose inlets (grilles have been removed also) in an effort to maximize air flow through the IC. Anything that might help reduce IATs is the goal.
  23. Mark, I've had a baffled sump with O-ring installed on my 211 for quite some time -- no leaks and no big clean-up/mess if you ever need to remove the pan. I'm thinking of ditching the "red" steel baffled pan that came with the CupR for the Moroso sump too. Let us know how it goes.
