  1. Video'ed it. Wasn't going to watch it tonight - too late (11.45pm) until I read above comments. Itching to watch it now..... Got to be up at 6am. Oh well, If I'm late for work!!!!!!
  2. I'm never really going to knock anything Lotus. There are models I prefer over others but a Lotus is a Lotus. Its great they are introducing a new car to keep the marque alive and kicking. However, I am also not sure of its place in the market, and who will buy it. Is it me or is there a big chunk of Proton in there somewhere?
  3. From the pic it looks same color as my Esprit - Midnight Blue
  4. A 20 mile stretch of the M5 (preferably with nobody else on it)
  5. As an Instructor the daftest tests I see are done by Indian pupils who have passed their test in India (you know, the "I'd like you to drive 10 yards forward and then I'd like to to reverse 10 yards - congratulations you've passed) They are then allowed to drive for up to 12 months in the UK before having to complete the Brittish Driving test. I have seen pupils drive themselves to the test centre, then fail the test and then get in thier own car and drive themselves home! Mad or what?
  6. Guess where I won't be going for any of my cars valeting. Not the best P.R.
  7. Both DVD's are extremely good value and entertainment (even when your on the eighth or nineth viewing) Even my kids are giving it the "not again Dad" comments, when I stick either on.
  8. After being held up, I actually drove past this mess. The pic is actually not too bad - it looked worse at the time going past. Don't like seeing any wrekage let alone a Lotus!
  9. Owned my Stevens N/A for five years and have had vertually trouble free motoring - very little to go wrong, and looks awsome. The only times I wish for Turbo or SE is when, young 17 year old Johny in his Nova with bodykit fancies playing, try to keep up with you, which he obviously can't, but doesn't give up trying. With a Turbo or SE, these idiots would give up trying and go pester some XR2i driver instead. Even owning as N/A, I would say go for more poke.
  10. looks like next saturday afternoons entertainment is sorted. Thanks
  11. Yes, I have to admit, i'm another visitor to the local garden centre today and whilst eyeing up a bargain in the hampster cage dept. my wife nudged me to point out an elderly gentleman in a "Starsky" wraparound cardigan, and asked if I was putting one on my Xmas list.
  12. Only a minor problem (I hope!) Took Esprit out for a bit of fun earlier. Just before dark and temperature was dropping. Drivers window slightly open went to put up and .... nothing. No upwards movement. flicked switch other way, and yes goes down no proplem but dead when trying to wind up. I've had sticking windows before where you can pull them up at same time as opperating switch but this is locked solid and will not go up even a millimetre but will still go down. I now have a window vertually fully open for about the next 10 miles at about -3. Dont fancy taking door panel off to investigate tonight as too late ,too dark and F F Freezing. Anybody had similar? and was it easy to sort?
  13. Spotted aproaching Penn Inn roundabout, Newton Abbot on Fri 18th at aprox 3.30pm and looked a beauty!
  14. Puffin crossing is a so called "intelligent crossing" If you look on top of the traffic lights, there will be 3 radar sencors(cameras) monitering who is crossing and will hold lights on red for car drivers until anybody has finished crossing, then go to green. Unlike a pellican crossing which will flash an amber light because it doesn't know who has finished crossing (unintelligent crossing) no cameras looking at you. Can I put my bic biros back in my top pocket now.
  15. RX8 has been mentioned before, and would be on my ugly list (although pretty good to drive i've been told) Not a head turner though. Its another example of designers coming up with something "different" or "quirky" but actually looks like a stretched bulldog.
  16. OK, OK, looking at the pics, you have convinced me! An old school mate of mine had a 'chocolate brown' one years ago and you've just jogged a few memories. Its going on the list. (diddn't take me much convincing really did it?)
  17. Age 38 Car 89 N/A Location - Devon Insurer - Aon Mods - SE rears and wing Millage all. - 3000 Agreed Value - 11000 Claims - 4 years none Points - none Price -284.30 (including breakdown)
  18. Quite a few proposals since the weekend for ugly car top 10 In summary, but in no particular order (yet!) 1 Ford scorpio 2 Fiat Multipla 3 Citreon 2CV 4 Wolseley 5 Audi TT 6 New Bentley 7 RX8 8 Austin Princess & Allegro & Maxi 9 Nissan figaro other requests : Aurora, All BMW's, Rover 200/400/800 and others all well worthy or should I say not worthy of being seen on a public highway. Excellents sites at uglycars.co.uk and unbelievably stupid goings-on at barryboys.co.uk and even worse at tanetane92.web.infoseek Keep them coming.
  19. FACT - We all know the esprit is one of the world most beautiful car to come off a drawing board. Every time I see a Giugiaro or Stevens my heart and head still say WOW! I own an Esprit for its beauty and shear driving pleasure but also own an "ugly car" - a Ford Scorpio. Not renound for its beauty but comfy to drive. Be interested to establish an "ugly top 10" Any ideas out there?
