Chassis back for blasting.  They have done a really good job.  We're ready to decide on hot zinc or cathodic dip.

Chassis now with WOB for their cathodic dip coating.  When it comes back, re-assembly can commence for suspension and brakes.

Chassis collected from cathodic dip coating.  Full inspection tomorrow, but I'm really very impressed with the finish.

I can now commence with the rebuild of the rolling chassis.

Did you buy new brake lines and were they pre-formed or have you formed them yourself? Where did you get them from (assuming they are not the originals).

Make them insitu chap - super easy to do - buy a decent hydraulic flaring tool

These are the original lines.  They were in great shape without any corrosion.  Some of the unions are being re-plated, but the lines were fine.

Wurth make a steel brake pipe with the green polyvinyl fluoride coating.

They didn't used to be very strict on that but I haven't bought from them in a while so I don't know if that is still the case. Do you have one of their trade stores nearby? They might allow cash account purchases.

A little more today - main coolant, fuel balance, brake vacuum and oil cooler pipes in

A bit more today.  Some minor fettling of the lower wishbone necessary to get clearance on the Penske damper.

After some minor adaptions for clearance on the lower wishbones, it's all fitting together.

Managed to fit the tunnel foam as well.

Some parts arriving, so able to do a little more. 

Need to create a bracket and hoses for the electric main coolant water pump, which will be mounted to the right of the charge-cooler pump.

Due to a change of focus in my life, I'm contemplating taking myself out of Esprit work. I've put a lot of time and effort into Esprit projects. Unfortunately, it comes at too high a price for my family.

 

Don't worry Simon and Gary, those in-progress projects will be completed.

 

In the New Year, I'll be looking to find buyers for the following:

• Sport350 #002 (GT1 replica)
• Lotus V8 tool wall and additional special tools
• Spare parts package including raw cast blocks and cylinder heads
