  1. Sorry all, its been a busy time recently and I haven't been on the site for weeks (which is most unusual for me). I have no idea if the drawings are real or not but it was ProAlloy who volunteered to share them with us making me believe there might be some truth behind it. I haven't put any effort recently into chasing this down but I will ramp up shortly and see what pressure can be applied. cheers -Chris
  2. Hi Makis, I am losing faith too but I haven't completely given up. ProAlloy haven't delivered on their promises one of which was to provide the CAD drawings in lieu of product. I will continue to push them on that since it seems the easiest to succeed with. However, if ProAlloy don't even share that I will be in the same boat as you and keen to learn from others. cheers -Chris
  3. I'm thinking really hard about my photographic ability here, I'd love to take the pass etc but I'm pretty sure I'd get found out once you saw the pictures. However, if you are interested in a social experiment to see if an iphone can be used for press images, I'm your man. 😇
  4. Which bit of that is a wing? I'm guessing that gets dropped from a great height and falls to the ground, not much lift available.
  5. Popping can also be caused by an exhaust leak or leaky exhaust valves, a compression test will help eliminate the valves at least.
  6. If it doesn't seize or blow up that will be reward enough. You can't rush these things. 🙈
  7. You should get some plaques made. 😁
  8. I've whizzed through this so not sure if its been mentioned or not. Have you checked the rough terrain / crash imobiliser (not sure of the proper name off the top of my head)? It's a trip switch that you may need to reset located at front of the engine bay behind the drivers head (in the UK).

I'm afraid the genie is already out of the bottle, no one can stop this now I suspect.

On the positive, that would most likely save the planet. 🤗
  11. Seems like only last year we were doing this. 😁 Happy Birthday Bibs 👍
  12. I have to confess I had a similar thought when I watched it back. I suspect there is an element of diminishing returns and some basic checks are better than none.
  13. I'm a bit slow, I was going to share the link to those wheels but realise Bibs just beat me to it. 🙂 Congratulations on your purchase. I'd also look into where the wheels you have came from, you might find they are worth a few quid on another marque perhaps. 🤷‍♂️ cheers -Chris
  14. I had a good chat with an engineer at Vibration Free when I dropped off engine parts for balancing. He also commented on gearbox alignment having a large potential to introduce vibrations, exaggerate the effect of the input shaft not being inline with the crank and you can quickly imagine where vibrations may come from. Since Vibration Free work to very fine tolerances he recommended I 'clock' the bell housing (see something like this for details https://www.holley.com/blog/post/how_to_align_your_bellhousing_for_maximum_transmission_and_clutch_life/ ), I'm not quite at that stage yet (embarrassing revelation) but plan to investigate that area during my rebuild. cheers -Chris
  15. I'm not sure this is the full experience just yet, but I'm sure that's coming. 🙂
  16. I have the GTO with the Quaife ATB diff and can fully recommend it. I don't find first too leggy and I find the subtle whine quite special, a little bit race car but not in your face. I opted for the tougher 1" Ford input spline that the clutch slides on rather than the original Renault but I am not sure if its still an option, you'd have to source specific clutch plates to match though but this isn't difficult. cheers -Chris
  17. Ditto, mine wouldn't survive scrutiny at the moment. However, I have to say, that garage looks fine and well used. Just be careful and I'm sure all will be fine. 🙂
  18. A cold air intake mod, as Clive mentioned, can add drama for the occupants without making the car too loud in general. I had the Radium CAI when I had my Evora and the sound inside was amazing. If you can get one it would be cheaper and easier to fit than the exhaust. 👍
  19. As Tom says, the chassis is quite specific and affects the steering column position directly.
  20. It does seem that colds and like linger for a fair bit longer these days...
  21. Unfortunately since Brexit those are no longer compatible. On a more serious note what work do you have planned for the engine refresh?
