News on remanufacture of 205 60 VR14

Is this likely to happen and if so, any idea of a time frame?

Looks like there's potentially 18 - 20 people so far showing interest. Any idea how many tyres are needed to make this workable?

Any update? I’m having my Elite rims refurbished and new tyres would be good to have.
cheers.

I got a reply from Ben Field at Vintage Tyres, who I think is the contact that Rich was using:

"I am hoping to have a 205/60R14 tyre available late this year, early next. Price will be around the £170 mark each plus VAT."

Hi guys, I purchased Toyo Proxes CF2, OK not exactly a premium tyre but certainly a nicer tyre (IMHO) than Nankang etc, I’m also using the Proxes on my Alpine GTA and 888’s on the TVR.

The CF2’s come in 205x60x14 HR and not VR, but in fairness HR are fine for the performance of the Elite.

Hope this helps and lends another option, I’m sure they were c.£60ea too.

I've got some Nankang NS-2 Ditchfinders on my Eclat, so may be interested in something a little better :)

Are the NS-2 really that bad? They are about all I can find at the moment 😞

I kid a little. Probably wouldn't be my tyre of choice for flinging a sports car round mountain roads, but as a tyre on an Eclat it's a decent enough choice. The problem is just that: there isn't much choice.

Phew - having two fitted today. My Eagle NCT's have full tread and look OK but they are 21 years old so I'm operating on the assumption that even mid-range tyres from 2021 will be better than 21 year old tyres, good though they were at the time

I got new tyres for the Elite with the elusive V rating.

I got them from Longstone tyres in the U.K. £82.97 Inc VAT
