Personally I would steer clear of polybushes. I havevfitted some and they really arn't good. Although easier to fit they are a departure from the original design spec. I my opinion they are not fit for the Esprit, although lots of people will want tonsell you them and say there is no problem with them. Try S and J sports cars.

PNM engineering I think can mod them if you need it done.

Of several Esprits I've driven, the best for steering feel was an S1 which had been fitted with the updated bush arms. Very sensitive and sweet on Pirelli P7 205/50-15 tires. I have therefore chosen the OEM Metalastic solution and will add that, as long as quality of the bushes is comparable to original, they will remain good for a very long time. With poly there is always the question of durability which is not the case with proper rubber/steel.

Yup, original Metallastic bushes all around in mine. Drives great.

Perhaps to clear the flanged edge of the arm bottom? You could ask the vendor.

Jonas, have you considered stiffening the chassis in some way? You will be putting quite a bit more torque to that pre-turbo chassis. Love the project, btw.

Jonas, which engine are you installing? Also, as Jani suggests, chassis stiffening. I am advised that FEA work has indicated the sort of stiffening plate attached around the gear change aperture for the later Esprit makes a considerable difference.

Five cylinder turbo and project being built in Sweden, so I’ll put my chips for a Volvo turbo.
