Radiator Fin Cleaning - Water Jet?

The service notes indicate that a 'not too powerful' water jet be used to clear debris from the radiator fins, from behind. Does anyone do this, if so what water jet do you use? Garden hose with a spray controllable nozzle?

You can only do that on the areas that aren't obscured by another heat exchanger. The crud tends to get packed tight between them, and the only way to get it out that I know of is to drop the rad-pack and separate them before cleaning.
