Black S1 on A3 Weds 7th Oct

Looked fantastic in the fading light of the day blasting down the A3. Stayed with it for quite a way in my Fiat 500.

Esprit S1 that is.

I think I have seen this car around Surrey. Once just outside the Chelsea Football training ground - I suspect it does not belong to a footballer but......

Always such a joy to see Esprit S1 on the road. So beautiful, so pure. And how I started my Lotus habit back in 1992.

Nope, I don't know anybody who owns a roadworthy black S1

The only black S1s I know of are a 1978 one which has been extensively modified for racing (SWS 18S), and an early one which has been seen in the Midlands (DFB 79).
