I see. I didn't know it was planned for demolishment.

Sorry, I may have been more dramatic than intended - I know the production line is being torn down but the building I presume will be re-purposed 🤷‍♂️

WOW - is that liquid yellow? Looks awesome in the sun.

Will it come with a soft top or is that ‘in the post’? Fantastic colour that’s letting the Elise go out in style!

I was told that if you option up a hard top, the soft top is included as well (presumably in the boot).

Thanks @Slow Yank

Well, time for a decision then. I really see myself in one. Just need the stars to allign. 🙂

It will be approximately 17.5 years of waiting for me by the time I show up at the dealer and take mine off the lot. If you really want it, my advice is don't wait for the stars to align as I had been doing...make them align as I did in the end (FINGERS CROSSED - I don't have the keys yet!!:hope:).

Slow Yank I hope that’s just dealer BS, would be atrocious if Lotus did that.

Agreed, and but in the end they're a business and they have to make smart commercial decisions. If something holds up production  on a small few for a substantial amount of time, I can't see the company keeping employees, tooling, parts, staff etc. in the "old" factory just for those. Companies give customers refunds for unfulfilled orders all the time, so this would be nothing out of the ordinary. I would just hope that Lotus would give them something for their trouble and for holding their deposit for ~ a year (....you guys paid deposits, right?😜).

I did hear similar, actually. Also in terms of specifying too many individualities. It sounded more like a "take it or leave it" approach for things like stitching, etc. There was no guarantee they could accommodate some requests.

My dealer gave me the same impression. Apparently they were able to pull some strings with the standard silver alcantara "debacle" and get me a black interior and contrasting silver/white stitching at no-cost, but custom coloured stitching was a no-go at that point. They also looked to be punishing people fiscally for one-off items like a black rear transom w/ the carbon pack, as discussed earlier in this thread.

I see pics are here are from the factory - is there anyway to go and view your own car in factory or is it strictly out of bounds due to covid still?

Depends how many parts are on back order :)

I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way.

The small print.

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

Parts on back order is a long running forum joke. You'll get there... :)
