My Lotus Evora 400 project (Project KWT007)

Hello my fellow brothers and sisters.

I wanted to share with you my story and all my work that I have done to my Lotus Evora 400. I have always been dreaming of owning one since I was little kid like even when I pay car video games, I always choose Lotus cars to race with. 

Recently in 2020, I spotted my eyes on a clean Evora 400 almost factory state and the former owner didn't drive it much since he bought it in 2016 it only have been driven 10,000 KM. You can even smell the leather seats fresh. Luckily for me, I had some money saved up in the bank and so I have bought it after checking all of it with Lotus dealership that we have here and they have told go for it.

 

Now the fun part begin. 😁

Alright,

Tonight when I am free I am gonna write down and share with you guys the pictures on how it all started 🥰

Ok so first of all,

I had to get rid of the beige interior color and redesign the seats. It took me over two weeks to get it done but it is totally worth it.

First, we had to remove the seats and removed all the panels and everything that can be painted.

 

 

That was a hard work to be honest and we had to read through lotus service manual notes to figure out where are the clips and screws

And the end result are;

Right after I bought the car, I had to do major service to the car since the previous owner did not drive it much and left it in the shade for too long.

First I changed engine oil and oil filter

Then had to change transmission fluid as well

After that had to change the spark plugs

also break fluid, brake pads, new tyres, pollen filter and K&N air filter (sorry did not have any pictures on phone😁)

Finally had to do wheel alignment and wheel balance

Now,

I moved to add few touches to interior and exterior of the car, here are the things that I have changed;

I ordered carbon fiber pedal shifters and exterior side air scoops 

 

Also got myself on these wheels badges and steering wheel badge because my wheels badge were worn off and scratched a lot

 

 

Lastly, I replaced tail lights to GRP V3 and all interior light bulbs and license plate bulbs to led ones to give sharp look better than yellow color

Wow! I'm impressed by your curage, to just rip the interior apart and do a total make over. And, to not end up in a never ending project.

Personally, I like red interior in white cars (My daily driver is a pearl white Stelvio, with red semi leather, black fabric in the middle of the seats).

Yeah I personally love white cars when they have red interior it makes them get stand out sharply. 😇

I totally pictured my finish project and set up milestones on paper the things I wanted to change or improve in the car.

Sorry for taking long in posting on this thread I took a small vacation with my family and now im back

Anyhow,

I started on re-painting all the ventilation grills on the back because they were worn out

Back again to this post,

I wanted to share this little thing I think it might help some people with their phone mount.

Since I am an engineer (haha👷‍♂️) I have actually created a copy of GRP {please don't sue me😅} version of their phone mount and it costed me about (2 USD) for the metal parts and (10 USD) for the magnetic mount.

 

First, I have made a drawing of the model shape that I wanted to create and put all the measurements on it;

 

After that I put it on a metal sheet to prepare it for cutting process;

 

 

Then, I have sanded the sharp edges so I don't cut my fingers also I used hammer to bend it to the shape I want and drilled holes for the screws;

 

 

After spray painting it with matte black 3-4 coats, this is the finish result;

 

and with the stereo frame on😁;

 

*note to self* do not take the measurements exactly as it may be slightly different but it is maybe 0.1 cm off😇 if you have got any questions, I would be happy to answer anything.

So did you simply repaint the tan interior or is it new. I would love your tan interior

The original seat leather is still intact, we just designed and tailored a new one on top of the tan leather. Just in case I wanted to go back to the factory seats in the future.😁
