Race mode on a 350 Sport

Hi folks. Race mode… I know it changes traction control settings but does it do anything to the engine mapping? I have noticed the idle is significantly higher when it’s activated. Does the rev limit get raised too or stay the same?

I cannot say exactly for 350 as I own 390.
I've noticed significantly highier idle revs aswell, rev limit is same as sport mode for me.

Hi Jimmy,

This is actually covered in the owners manual on page 51.

Touring - Rev Limit 6600rpm

Sport - Rev Limit 7000rpm

Race - Rev Limit 7000rpm AND idle speed increased to 900rpm.

The throttle response is much sharper on race mode on my car. Makes blipping the throttle on down changes much sweeter. Acceleration seems more urgent and of course it sounds fantastic.

I also noticed that the down changes are smoother and sweeter when in race mode.
