Clutch pedal doesn't come back

Hallo everyone,

I have a Esprit SE Turbo 4 Cyl - 1992

Yesterday while I was driving I pressed my clutch pedal and it didn't come back.

I had to pull it back to its normal position with my hand. I've had that several times.

For now everything is back to normal.

Does anyone know what the problem is?

My Hydraulic liquid is ok.

If the clutch itself has engaged then it is possibly a master cylinder seal that has gone. Check the position of the bearing release arm when this happens.

As above, when I had this, it was the master (and the clutch remained disengaged even with the pedal pulled back up, so I had to trailer mer SE 😞 ).

I had the same problem a few weeks ago, unfortunately it was a bigger problem.

My clutch disc has disintegrated literally, so the clutch was blocked and gear change was impossible. I had to trailer the car back home and install a new clutch.

You can easily check, if it is a problem with the hydraulics. Just place your smartphone in video-mode under your car an press the clutch. If you can see the push-rod moving, it is probably a bigger problem. If not, check your hydraulics!
