The finished car is just lovely, very clean! My first Lotus was also a red 90 SE, she got me hooked for life. 😉

Hallo! Ich habe das Auto vor 3 Jahren in Italien in einen she guten Zustand gekauft. Ein "kleines" Service inkl. Zahnriemenwechsel wurde kurz davor lt. Vorbesitzer durchgeführt.

Trotzdem möchte ich auf Nummer sicher gehen und den Zahnriemen erneut wechseln. Noch dazu ist mir im letzten Jahr ein Benzingeruch aufgefallen. Die Kupplung war auch nicht mehr die Allerbeste , und die Klima hatte bei mir noch nie funktioniert.

Nach Rücksprache mit meinen Mechaniker führte leider kein Weg vorbei, den Motor auszubauen, und dann ALLE Arbeiten- die bei einen ausgebauten Motor einfacher erledigt werden können durchzuführen.

Einkaufsliste:

Kupplung, beide Alu Benzintanks+ Benzinpumpe+ Füllstandssonde, grosser Ladeluftkühler, Klimakomressor+ Trockner (r134a), ALLE Gummischläuche im Motorraum + Benzintanks, Blowoff Ventil, Wasserpumpe, Ladeluftkühlerpumpe, Plenum Kammererweiterungskit, Lamda Sonde, Kraftsoffschlauch +Benzinfilter Stahlflex, Zahnriemen +Lager, Schraubwerk, Poly Buchsen, sämtliche Keilriemen, Oil catch tank+ "grünes Ventil" ,Stahlflex Ölleitung, Motor/getriebeöl, red race chip,verstellbarer Querlenker ,Motor/getriebelager, Alu Kühler-Ausdehnungsgefäße,............

 

Diese Arbeiten habe nicht ich selbst durchgeführt , sondern von einer Werkstatt welcher bei solchen Exoten nicht "nein" sagt und auch schon Erfahrung mit lamborghini, ferrari , lotus , porsche........hat.

Die "Restaurierung" hat ungefähr 3 Monate gedauert- immer wieder musste ich weitere Ersatzteile besorgen. Natürlich hat es immer wieder Rückschläge gegeben (geplatzter Ladeluftkühler- keine Ahnung seit wann.....), aber ich denke das Endergebnis ist nicht schlecht geworden.

Leider ist beim Zusammenbau ein kleiner Fehler unterlaufen- die Uniball Gelenke wurden am Getriebe nicht von unten – sondern von oben angeschraubt. Es funktioniert zwar die Schaltung, aber so soll und darf es nicht sein. Wird natürlich von meinen Mechaniker sofort umgabaut, aber solange Streusalz auf der Strasse liegt wird das Auto keinen Meter bewegt.

In diesen Jahr möchte ich unbedingt noch ein Bremsen upgrade durchführen- hab aber keine Idee welche.....- Vorschläge/empfehlungen?

Do I understand correctly you drove and enjoyed the car for a couple of years before having all the work done? So you had a good idea what you wanted changed.

Getting all that done in just 3 months is pretty impressive! Most projects take a lot longer. I've been working on my own SE for over 1.5 years now, though I must admit the vast majority of that she's just sitting there awaiting her turn for some attention.

I didn't realise it was in German until I came to reply - my auto translate in Edge started to translate my post and it got very confusing after I hit the first return key. The next sentence is supposed to start "Posting photos" ...

The gasoline smell can also come from the gas tank ventilation hose that connects the two tanks. Its a nylon plastic hose that cracks with age. It connects the two gas tank filler necks and runs behind the rear window in the engine bay, usually covered by the rear window carpet. I had that issue on my 1989 Esprit.
