Donington 2008 (29th and 30th March)

Good to see and meet old friends and new over the weekend.

Had a great time met some great people but didn't get much chance to see the carpark though. Oh and some nice classic Jim Clark cars on display next to us on the PNM Stand.

Note to self : after a 480 mile return trip to Donington. Must remember to at least walk around the displays and trade stands next year - not just walk through the entrance and down to LEF stand and then back outside again for a chin wag. Only realised I'd not seen the rest of the show after getting home.

i had a great weekend, i didnt manage to get any pics of the goings on as it wasnt until the end i got my camera out! while everyone continued drinking in the evenings i splept like a log upstairs in my room, im not used to these late night goings on!!

i must admit to using a whole tube of autosol over the 3 days and lots of polishes and waxes on the car.

best bits of the weekend for me:

me finding a guy who sold me everything i wanted in the way of stainless steel fixings, even the special ones for my gearknob!

pete at pnm for bringing me the heatshields for me car, hes a true gent

mike taylor at lotus bits for bringing me a new air trunking tube as my old one had collapsed and a few other things and giving me a part free as well, top bloke there.

the guys at south west lotus , most polite as usual and had lots of time for me, but... they still wont let me have that aux manifold for

Great weekend as usual even without the Esprit, good to see all the old faces!

Ace weekend away!!!!

As with all out events now, we have made them our own. What used to be a club lotus event

that i attended for a few hours on a sunday has now become a weekend away socialising with

old friends and making new ones.

Nice evenings out on friday and saturday night, some good chat/coffee/hanging in the hotel

bar, A really good laugh with like minded people. A nice run back in the sun on dry roads.

A really nice couple of days away.

Oh, and there was a car show too.

A fab weekend all round, my head hurts still and its 11.30 sunday night. Something to do with lots of beer before food, LOL. When my head clears a bit will add a bit more but it was good to make new LEF friends and laugh and drink with the regulars.

We stopped on the way back after so many reports of nice plastic burgers in cardboard

I would have liked to meet up on Sunday, but I had other things to do.

I saw a few of you on Saturday though. I disappeared to the track soon after and got a passenger ride in the red Elan.

At least my one got to this event without exploding .

I'll keep an eye open for the next event & will hopefully be there.

The LEC convoy was a good'un on Saturday. Sy led, followed by alternating yellows & BRGs, then blues, silvers, whites, blacks with the reds bringing up the rear. I think the convoy totalled 76. The total was irrelevant: it was a good turn-out and a great spectacle. It was my first Donny and I really enjoyed it.

Sorry to hear that the M1 hoon was spoiled by traffic & weather. At least you all got there ok, so you can repeat it when things are better.

Had a great day yesterday, the sun certainly shone on the us good Lotus folk. Great to see faces old and new (even if some of them did look a little worse for wear .

I have just uploaded some video footage onto youtube, I would leave it a little while to set up before viewing. 10 points if someone can tell me what the music is, Howard is not allowed to play.

Me and jody had a great time , great to see every one again . Nearly ended in tears on way home though, belted it along motorway, lovely and sunny, hardly any cars on road , then gets into bloody wales , slowed right down as it started raining ( well theres a surprise, not !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), just going round horrible sharp bend, when some tosser coming the other way, too fast, lost it, skidded sideway into me, just clipped the wing mirror, and put a scatch down side off car , which I,m hoping will t.cut out, could have been alot worse. He didn,t even stop, a couple of guys in the car behind me stopped to make sure we were alright. They drive like idiots round here, it isn,t any wonder that theres around 1-2 deaths per week around here.

Hopefully be out of here soon, back to civilization , cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
