The 'Esprit' is a classic car, people with MY2002 cars have 'classic car' insurance with 'classic car' specialist insurers. Let's not get into a discussion on semantics though as I'm sure our opinions will vary.

Unfortunately I can't please everyone Nick when picking cars, sorry you're no longer attending and I'll source alternate accommodation now you've cancelled the room you had originally kindly booked for Laura and I. I wasn't aware it was dependant on me picking your car for the display, that wasn't made clear and to be honest, it wouldn't have affected my decision.

Hello Bibs,

I would have helped You, if it was summer, holiday and not ice on the roads in Sweden now...

Bibs,

I would have loved to help out and bring my '03 V8.

If it had been last week I could have as I was on holiday but next weekend the in-laws are visiting so sorry I can't make it.

We've just sorted out PLI and insurance so everything on the stand is now covered. The display materials we've amassed from several kind benefactors is brill and we're looking like we'll be putting on an excellent show. In the absence of a late car (which is very embarrassing, we're the biggest Esprit club in the world after all) Dave While's lovely Sport350 will be on show to display the later Esprit, thanks Dave

A very big thanks to:

Cliff Ledger

Dave While

Ade Heath

Ken Baird

Alan @ Club Lotus

Scott @ Bell & Colvill

Paul @ Lotus on Track

Lotus Cars

and the guys/gals who are giving up their time to come and help us out.

We're still after more volunteers for every day, please don't be shy if you can come along and there's most probably a free pass to the show in it for you!

Well i've just got back from the NEC & chatting with the boys (& Laura). Great stand, lovely selection of cars & displays etc borowed from dealers & the factory. It really does Lotus & the Esprit proud. I have to admit I wasnt really up to date with this thread as now i'm self employed I tend to work alot instead of reading on here so sorry I wasnt able to help out at all!

If anyone is thinking of going then definately go. Its huge & theres so much to see. Apart from the LEF stand I was blown away with the GT40 stand, 4 cars (replicas of course) all in the gulf colours, looked fantastic.

Well done to Bibs & his merry men. (oh & good catching up with you again Ade) :)

What Splodge said^^^^!

Went on Friday with my nephew and we had a brilliant day. We thought the LEF stand was excellent - a more professional looking LEF than I've seen before and IMO one of the best "club" stands. Of course there were stands where the extra

Will do mate.

:(

We might have this show stitched up though:

1, Rich puts brings his blue badge and we get off the parking fee.

2, When we get near the ticket place, i start pushing him and he then

starts rolling his head to one side saying stuff like 'I like fire engines'

etc, and i get in free as a 'helper'. Works everywhere apart from at

silverstone, the BRDC don't take prisoners and everyone pays full.

It's a plan. But if there are passes then it will at least save me having to

blow my mates nose for him in an attempt to get myself in for free.

Be nice to catch up as well, been a while what with me missing the factory do

and that. Vic won't be coming (they are re-running the waltons on tv) but we

will both be at the christmas drinks this year for sure.

:)

I thoroughly enjoyed the event although it was VERY busy.

Was it successful? Well that depends on how you define success.

Financially the answer is no - we were not selling anything (well a few Lotus bits and pieces but nothing significant) and we don't charge to join the forum. A conservative estimate is that it cost Laura and Bibs around

Here Here! Well done all. I'm rubbish, I know I am, but in my defense my wife was working all weekend so I was doing the old Househusband and child sitter routine.

So when does all teh stuff get returned? I could, at least, offer to help unload it all at this end.

Just to say what a great show!! and a big thank you to Bibs, Laura, Dave, Cliff and Ade (and S1 owner, sorry I dont know your name) for making the BIG effort required to get all the stand sorted and representing the marque so well....I agree with Dave; this goes a long way to 'lift the bar' and with Lotus being taken more notice of lately it will only help with values NOT that that is what its all about of course!!!!

Dave... I want a V8....will speak to santa (hope my car didn't hear that!)

Just wanted to add my thanks to Laura & Bibs for the opportunity to show my car. I think for our first event at the NEC we looked very professional and this is all down to Laura & Bibs efforts to get materials from Lotus, Club Lotus, & Bell & Colvill to create a top display which I am sure was the envy of many a club with just a gazebo and a few deck chairs. Thanks again I am very proud to have been associated with the event.

I'd like to thank Laura Especially for the

free cups of tea. Very much appreciated.

Must find a weekend before christmas for

you two to come down again for the weekend,

chill out about town and have a few drinks and

that, again.

:D
