Adventures in marshalling!

Just like to say that I'm wrapped up for the year, I've had a lovely time and very much enjoyed myself and just been upgraded to 'Specialist' Marshal on the pit lane/start line

Anyone fancy giving it a go next year?

Well this is take 2. Last night typed this and got to the end and wanted to double check a link to give info and browser shut this window and opened link. My fault totally, but boy were there some expletives!! So tonight this is typed off forum and copy and pasted, in case I am a complete dip stick and repeat it.

Did my first weekend of the year at Brands Hatch with the 750 Motor Club. Stock Hatch racing, SaxMax and kit cars plus Morgans and more, lots of carnage and red flags but some ace racing and a good time. Look who was out in the afternoon, stories of his demise have been greatly exaggerated!

Encouraged by, amongst others, Bibs, to get more involved in marshalling here is a special moment for Marion as she was helping in the pits lanes at an Mg Car Club Event at Brands earlier this month as part of her training to be a marshall.

I was due to marshal at Brands this weekend for the WTCC but ended up in Germany at the 'Ring instead. Perhaps just as well, this was just after Westfield Bend.

It's been a long time since I was on the bank at Brands but condolences to the family of the marshal who very sadly died at the weekend. That was on Post 4 at the top of Paddock, the same place the MR2 came off all those years ago.

Is that on the outside of the track with limited protection

Top of Paddock Hill as you turn in for the corner. It's where the ambulance gate is so there's no fencing, only protection is the gate and cars do come down there very quickly.
