Choke cable replacement

Has anybody got any advice on how to replace a choke cable on a 88My esprit?

Inner, outer or both?

Inner is simple, just push it through.

Outer, hopefully there is one alreay there in which case, secure one end of the new outer to the oposing end of the old outer and (ideally with somebody pushing the other end) pull the new one through. You can then put the innner back in if you don't have a new one of those, but ideally put a new inner in as well (the both option).

I bought mine from a Halfords bike hut place. Just a long gear cable. Cheap and the right length.

I replaced inner and outer and taped the outers together to allow them to go through. My tape came off! Still, abit of wiggling and centre tunnel cover undoing got it there!

There is a place in Staplehurst Kent called CBS who do bits for kit car builders. They will sell you the inner , outer or both. Loads of advice and really usefull for odds and sods. No connection with them apart from as a happy punter.
