Oz Saturns do not fit

Recommended Posts

Hi,I have just purchased these wheels knowing that they fit the S3 esprit ,so I took the gamble as I need new tyres anyway .(These wheels have four new tyres).

I have tried to fit them and they nearly fit but just not right.Should I drill them out slightly larger or should i remove the tyres and sell them on as they are.Cheers Paul G.

What do you mean when you say they don't fit right?

All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit.

They'll fit, they should go straight on as the S4 should have the later hubs too. Fitting V8 wheels to earlier cars involved changing the hubs or machining the wheels but you should be ok - they are exactly the same PCD.

I read your previous post asking if OZ saturns of ebay would fit an Esprit, I had a look on ebay and it had saturns on there but for different makes, Did you buy Esprit saturns? or did you buy the alfa Saturns that were on ebay?

If you bought alfa ones there in lies your problem.....

No I did not buy the Alpha Saturns,I bought the other ones.I took a gamble and it did not work but I have 3 new eagle F1 tyres and one 90% tyre. The hole size I needed was 5x108 I have 5x112.

Had a chat with a friend who is a engineer, and a whiz kid when you want something special made.Companies have patiented some of his ideas.Anyway he is going to look at the wheels and see if he can drill them out and fit some inserts.Watch this space.

Hi

I looked at Oz Saturns on ebay a few days ago (in Cambridgeshire as I recall) as they looked just like the V8 wheels.

I asked a question of the seller as it listed them all as 17inch and you will know that V8's have 18inch rears. It seemed strange as they were the correct 10inch wide at the rear.

He did confirm that they were indeed 17inch so I rationalised for sure that they were not from a V8 and left them alone.

Seems they might not have been for an Esprit.

Doesn't help I know -sorry-, but if they were the same wheels you bought then at least it explains it.
