NSF Indicator

Recommended Posts

Out for a drive the other day and noticed the nsf indicator was not fulfilling its purpose in life and I decided to chage the bulb. When I took it out it tested OK on a meter so went to replace it.....and then the holder disappeared into the bumper! is this an under tray off job (ie a ramp) or is there a cheeky way into the space behind the bumper without having limbs with 8 joints in them?

Hello rick. I tried fishing mine out a while back spent ages but no joy. Taking the bumper off can be a pain. In the end i removed the lens got a screwdriver and a hammer a quick tap which split the back of the indicator housing got the bulb holder put it back in. Glued up the housing and replaced the lens. You may also be able to get at it by removing the lens. Then undo the two screw that hold the housing in these are behind the rubber. However ever one i have seen either snap or round which makes a bigger problem. You can take the bumpe off which will take several hours if all the fixings are ok but be prepared to replace them which i have just done. Have a look in the at the begining the body work. The quick fix is the hammer and superglue. Also glue both bulb holders whilst broke. Otherwise it will happen again happy fishing. If you shatter the indicator housing i believe i have a spare thats been glued
